Agree with you nleif, but finally I made a 16steps with 2 switchs, a divider ...save as a cabinet, and didn't buy any extra module.

For those of you who have it - how is the GUI scrolling? For me it's very choppy in Bitwig 2.4 and sa a standalone application, whereas it is smooth in Live 10. After further investigation it turned out Live was running it at half-resoultion (2x2 pixels) and when I disabled plugin scaling and got it to display 1x1 image, it was choppy as well. It appears Voltage doesn't use GPU for rendering, which is unfortunate, but then it's not a complex 3D models so it should be handling it much better. Disabling animations, shadows, etc. doesn't really change anything.
Any ideas how to improve it (I'm on Surface Pro 4 i7)?

Can you share it, please? I'm only starting my journey with modular stuffWhywhy wrote:Agree with you nleif, but finally I made a 16steps with 2 switchs, a divider ...save as a cabinet, and didn't buy any extra module.

Can you gate sync (lock) the phase on the Analog Oscillator?

Yes, it's pretty choppy here too. I'm using it as an AU plugin in Logic, and it's maybe slightly smoother as standalone, but not by much. I have tried it on a MacBook Pro (2017) & Mac Pro (2013), and while it's slightly better on the Mac Pro, I also have a feeling it _should_ be able to scroll much faster, since there is no fancy 3D gfx or anything, as you said. Hope there is some way to do it, as right now the slow GUI is pretty much my only major gripe with VM...antic604 wrote:For those of you who have it - how is the GUI scrolling? I have find that changing the settings for cables result in more snappy Ui.Captain wrote:Yes, it's pretty choppy here too. I can scroll without any problems.
Unmark all cable options, mark just that :
Hide cables when dragging modules.
Transparent: all but current modules.

And thanks for the link!

BTW, I found that for standalone application you can right-click the icon, go into properties / compatibility and there disable the high DPI options, which forces it to run in lower resolution and then the scrolling is buttery smooth.
Wish I could do this in Bitwig (or Studio One 4, where it's also choppy)...
Cherry Audio, maybe you could add an option to disable high-DPI support? I prefer it slightly blurry to choppy
And BTW2 - the MIDI Input module seems like it uses low-res assets when compared to everything else:

In the principal ui, where you connect your modules, you can right click and save, copy delete a row, a cabinet, after that, it's like a row preset, you can load it when you want via the cabinet section. Really useful for save ideas, make poly synth, load a full raw of modules....
I have some cabinets for generators, tools, seq.......

The Digi Drums are available and now. They’re pretty simple modulation-wise but the sample options are good.
It’s awesome to hear that they are working on new modules too. I got the PSP collection so at this point there are a lot of options for filters and effects. Once this is officially released and I can get my hands on the module developer I’ve got a few module ideas I’d like to take a stab at.
FWIW, I’m excited to see more modules like
- oscillators
- distortion/saturation
- sequencers

It has eight audio outs and four ins. There are MIDI in and out modules, as well as a CV to MIDI module; with these modules, you can transmit module notes/CV's to other virtual instruments or to external hardware. No OSC at present, but I suspect we'll keep adding more modules that let you interface with other gear... we're all for that.lnikj wrote:Tell that to the 14.5k members of the VCV Facebook group. @cherryMitch - thanks for your clarifications to my earlier questions. If I may ask another ..
How many audio ins and outs does it have? Does it have midi out? Does it have OSC in and out?
In this new software modular world the best way for them all to coexist and thrive is if they can all talk to each other. Reaktor is very flexible but Softube Modular is unfortunately somewhat lacking in the playing nicely with others department, and I doubt Pulsar is as well, so this may be something you can leverage.
