WTF?! In next PRODUCT???Caine123 wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 11:54 amThis will be fixed in the next UA product.ThomasHelzle wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 11:39 am Is it just me or does this look incomplete/rushed?
- There don't seem to be any factory presets specific to Triad in my install? (Windows 8.1 x64, VST2 & 3)
- Byome presets always land on the low band when loaded from the main preset menu, which usually is not what I want.
- I can't drag and drop effects between the bands? Why?
- If I apply a Byome preset directly to a band, it's missing the modulators in the preset, so currently I seem only to be able to use Byome presets on the low band in their full glory by loading them via the main preset menu?
- It's great that I can scale the GUI, but why can't I make it wider? Would definitely be welcome with a couple of effects in a row in this kind of plugin...
I don't have Byome and didn't find answers in the docs, so if I'm missing something I'd be happy for some enlightenment.
Cheers,
Tom

No, Caine's not associated with Unfiltered.antic604 wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 7:24 pmWTF?! In next PRODUCT???Caine123 wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 11:54 amThis will be fixed in the next UA product.ThomasHelzle wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 11:39 am Is it just me or does this look incomplete/rushed?

Whoa! How does one get in on beta testing for UA?! I would love to be a part of this process, and to chase down bugs for you guys. I absolutely adore you boys and your amazing creations. I have been using unfiltered plugins in pretty much every project this year (sometimes in virtually every channelthelizard wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 6:29 pmYep! We will keep up with the public beta process. Having more users on these builds really helps us find more issues. I'm hoping that we can get a beta up within the month, as the Wide Mode code already works in LION. It will be easy to directly port it to BYOME, but we'll have to do some extra coding to accommodate the combination of wide and tall modes for Triad.epiphaneia wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 5:51 pmMay I ask when -roughly- this is going to happen? (This is the one thing that makes/breaks using byome/triad enjoyable/painful for me)thelizard wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 4:23 pm We finally got a Wide Mode working on LION based on this frequent request. It came too late to add it to Triad for release, but we will try to get it added to Triad and BYOME in the next round of updates.
Will it also make the betas you occasionally upload to circumvent the apparently rather slow PA update process?
I am deeply impressed with Triad, and I am grateful for the upgrade price. I am really struggling to understand all of the complaining. $49 is an absolute steal for this thing. The obvious stuff makes it worthwhile on it's own, but all of the "between the lines"/"under the hood" stuff makes this legendary. I think y'all should calm down and take a closer look... In my opinion, this would be worth $49 or more even with 0 BYOME effects, for instance.
PA fuckery aside, I personally experience joy when I am able to support developers that I care deeply about, especially in exchange for a unique, polished, and unparalleled tool. Thanks for all you do Michael/UA

Very interesting effect, well done Unfiltered Audio (I hadn't tried Byome) !
I like the whole environment, with creative effects, modulations, multiband & routing...
A little usability concern is that the size keeps getting reduced at the default tiny size each time you close and reopen the GUI (Win10 64bit, Live9). Is there any way to change this behaviour ?

This is fixed for the next build with all of the HiDPI stuff. We ended up needing to rewrite a lot of the scaling code to deal with Cubase, Ableton, and FLStudio properly on Windows.sinkmusic wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 8:59 pm A little usability concern is that the size keeps getting reduced at the default tiny size each time you close and reopen the GUI (Win10 64bit, Live9). Thank you, The Lizard.
By the way, the new GUI (since the most recent plugins) really got improved (while staying in the same kind of design)
Will older plugins (like Fault, Dent, etc) get a similar facelift at some point ?

More questions:
- What is the thinking behind the button called "Byome" to open the lower part of the plugin? That doesn't make sense to me, since the lower part contains the three bands that are specific to Triad. Since I don't have Byome, that is totally non-intuitive.
I'd rather call it something obvious - initially I had no idea how to open the details view.
- Since there is not way to define or star favourites (that I can see), I save those to a user folder called favourites. But I have to re-enter the name of the preset again from scratch. Would it be possible to have the save dialog come up with the existing name by default? That's how most software handles it. It's easier to remove that than to re-type everything all the time.
- I now rescaled the interface several dozen times already, everytime I switch to another track and back (Bitwig). This REALLY needs to be saved... and the wide view is REALLY needed ASAP, all that scrolling is silly. I know you are working on that already, but I still want to emphasise it once again.
I start to otherwise enjoy this.
The Grain effect seems a bit clicky but some of the other effects sound really good and smooth.
If the workflow can be improved, this should become a nice tool.
Cheers,
Tom

Thought the same at first - but if you connect more of the macros, new ones show up. Didn't try them all but the device shows 32 as possible?Noumena wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 9:30 pm So... why only four macros now?
I have been really really using all 8 and now we've got three parallel fx channels. 8 makes the most sense: Ableton and Bitwig and Mackie support 8 modulators per page. Byome presets are broken (at least mine are) with only 4.

Tom
