Ok I have to admit that I did not know that the entire plugin structure could change in snapshots! I had never tried! I thought it was just for the parameters of the loaded plugins. I actually thought I had found a bug yesterday because I loaded a different plugin and then hit a snapshot and it reverted to what was loaded before. I had no idea. How does it change the structure so fast? Do the plugin's stay loaded in the background when you change snapshots? Anyways that's pretty cool.
So yeah the sub snapshots thing is cool. It was mentioned above that the X and Y are automatable for my host does not see these parameters. It seems like amused also did not see these parameters. They simply aren't there. Is there a way to enable them? Midi cc learn is not the same, you don't get the same communication 2 way as with automatable parameters.

You will need to assign automation IDs to them, as with additional Macro pages. See the Automation Manager.

Aha! Got it! I had assumed they would be automatable by default like the first 8 macros are. Yes I see now that they can be added to automation, thanks!newsonicarts wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 12:46 pm You will need to assign automation IDs to them, as with additional Macro pages. I have no freakin idea, don't ask because you won't find out- voodoo!
(well actually, New Sonic Arts' extraordinary coding as well as the voodoo)
If you remember what Kore did in it's 'live' mode, it basically had everything loaded all the time and going from one 'structure' to another was in reality bringing volume faders up and down. Freestyle is next level.

I think it needs a different name than macro snapshots, it's a bit confusing trying to talk about the normal snapshots and those grid snapshots. Maybe morph presets or something?

are you talking about performance presets? it's possible to turn modules on and off using that, no volume involved... off plugins are still loaded in ram but use no processingpinki wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 1:01 pm If you remember what Kore did in it's 'live' mode, it basically had everything loaded all the time and going from one 'structure' to another was in reality bringing volume faders up and down. hi there, i just bought Freestyle, i've enabled the beta features, i've got some different snaphots saved for a synth, how do i assign these snapshots to the morph grid sub snapshots? guess i'm doing something obvious wrong cos i can't get the morphing going here. cheers

You have to store new grid presets within a snapshot. As we discussed above, you can't assign snapshots to the morph grid as the whole structure could be different. But within a given setup (or snapshot), you store the current state of the macros by hitting the little camera icon to the left of the grid and then clicking a square you want to save the current state to, or by right-clicking on a grid square and hitting store. Then change some macros and store that state to a different square. If you are in a current snapshot and are planning on changing snapshots from there, make sure to save the snapshot again which stores those grid square presets with the snapshot.emef wrote: Thu May 21, 2020 6:09 pm hi there, i just bought Freestyle, i've enabled the beta features, i've got some different snaphots saved for a synth, how do i assign these snapshots to the morph grid sub snapshots? guess i'm doing something obvious wrong cos i can't get the morphing going here. cheers

By the way, I think it's even confusing that the icon to save these macro states is the same camera icon that is used to store snapshots. The snapshot concept is already used. Snapshots within snapshots (or as a different kinds of snapshot when a no regular snapshots exist) is definitely going to confuse people. Great functionality though.
2 other thoughts:
-It's great that you can chose between either a grid preset either jumping to the values when you cross over to it, or morphing the macros, but it might also be cool if you could somehow do either in the same mode. With Kore for example you could either select a grid preset, or morph between them. Not sure if that would be possible here. Maybe at least a double-click on a grid square to jump to it when in morph mode.
-X and Y need automation values (% I guess?), as I've requested for Macros.

Still no parameter values passed to host. Was hoping it was under misc fixes. Hopefully this gets some priority soon, along with real units of single parameter macros for VSTs, like with the built-in devices.
