To get the "most" exciting sounds from granular stuff I would definitely recommend reaktor or anything that allows for triggering grains at audio rates. This makes the window function for each grain have a far greater impact than at lower rates. Tons of fun stuff can be done with the standard grain delay and grain sampler inside Reaktor.chrisstiles wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 7:02 pmWhich Granular delays would you suggest looking at ?Ah_Dziz wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 8:33 am I'm a big fan of salty grain or reaktor for most stuff. I use crusher x when I gotta get super crazy. My issue with most of the real-time buffer granulizer effects out there is that most of them won't let you generate grains fast enough or or small enough to achieve many of the stranger sounds that are possible with granular delays.
You can play with attempting to find the input frequency and then playing around with that to make auto tune type processing. But if you can find a good way to find the fundamental frequency of your input...... Then you can do lots of silly stuff reminiscent of like Waves' Ovox or "the mouth". I have been working on building some janky "broken autotune" stuff in my Nord G2 just as an exercise to see how well I can extract the "pitch and performance data" from my voice in a way that's useful for controlling synths. I'm mostly stealing from the amazing work of Tim Kleinert. That guy is crazy good at tweaking digital systems for fun sounds.
