Not quite sure how so much talent went to waste, Let's face it by that time the big O's voice was wavering a bit and well it didn't really work as well as one would of expected.

Am I recalling correctly that they did a posthumous track or two with big O?

Nobody sings like Roy Orbison, the only person that Elvis said could sing better than himself was the big O

Amy Winehouse

Yes, I watch a documentary about her the other day. I didn't used to like her much because of the way she came across, but I totally understand her now, she is a victim of her own success. The Amy Winehouse that we saw was the Amy Winehouse that was created and shaped by the music industry and media. I think she had to go through far too much crap for such a young person, it a real shame what happened but it's the kind of thing that happens to vunerable people in the media spotlight. Some can cope, others just about manage it and some lose their lives because of it.

the industry is shit for anyone who is in it "for the love of music" because it's not there for that, it's there to milk talent till it's too tired to do any more then move on.

obviously im talking about the top tier, the fat cats, they don't care about art, beyond the colour of money.

waters put it better in welcome to the machine, and it only got worse since then sadly.
