For me it's even just 49€ - almost impossible to resist even though I really have barely any use for it.

Does anyone know how to get the "Wavelengths" bundle for $19? In Pigments 4, in app, all three sound sets are $9.99 each. On Arturia.com, same thing. Sure, it's only a savings of $10 as a bundle, but I'd like to take advantage of it if I can.

If you go to this link while logged in and scroll to the "Introductory Offer" section, the $20 bundle for all 3 packs should be there.c0nsilience wrote: Wed Dec 14, 2022 2:29 pm Does anyone know how to get the "Wavelengths" bundle for $19? at least 3 or more of us have asked whether the three Wavelengths banks include new samples or wavetables since I did — but has anyone answered?
FYI Here's where those extra files sit in OSX:

Like Phaseplant, Pigments drain on CPU use totally depends on what patch you cobble together with it. Here on my machine — VITAL (and anything else I use) doesn't suffer from this nearly as much or as often as these two… and though Pigments can be problematic Phaseplant seems to suffer the worst (even in some of it's factory provided patchwork)

I could see two samples added by the packs, but no wavetables. Could have overlooked something.petedako wrote: Wed Dec 14, 2022 2:58 pm at least 3 or more of us have asked whether the three Wavelengths banks include new samples or wavetables since I did — but has anyone answered?![]()
But to me it makes more sense that Arturia included all the necessary wavetables and samples for the preset packs right with the factory 4.0 bank. Then 3rd party patches can make use of them, without creating dependency to preset packs that a user might not have bought.

Thanks for confirming Fannon
I agree this makes sense… and suspected that this would be the case

I did some more tests yesterday. I Created a patch using a single Wavetable Osc, 7 voice Unison, full spread and sweeping the WT with a function generator.Vortifex wrote: Wed Dec 14, 2022 10:14 am CPU definitely seems better, although it's still a hungry synth.
I then created the same patch as close as possible in another synth. (The Pigments Wavetables are in .wav format and can be used in other WT synths so I even used the same WT in both patches).
Results were that Pigments still takes 3 times more CPU as the other synth but it used to take 4 times more so there has been some improvement.
Still hard to reach for Pigments in a project when there are other synths that can do the same job for less CPU cost but at least Arturia is addressing the issue.
So for me Pigments remains a good sounding synth that's fun to patch but will be used sparingly in projects.
On another note in case anyone is not aware, you can use Pigment's Arp/Seq to drive other synth plugins. The trigger probability and poly-rhythm etc features make it a great tool.

You can make it as low and fat in the bottom as you want, learn the basic synthesis and use an oscillator as a sub. You have plenty of choice for that with the engines of your choice, or even the Utility engine there's an oscillator exactly there for that.

I think Pigments is getting up there with Zebra and Alchemy for inspiring top quality sound design. So many patches in the factory and addon banks are so beautiful

Thumbs up for really testing it out! 3 times more is still a lot. What other synth did you compare it with? Did you use any filters/ effects? In Pigments a few things are active by default, maybe they need to be disabled extra?Teksonik wrote: Wed Dec 14, 2022 3:56 pmI did some more tests yesterday. But I also noticed that Pigments is taking more CPU than most other synths. It also loads slower, but that's not really a real concern. I'm happy to see that Arturia is improving this and many here already confirmed that improvement. Also - being more reliable / predictable with performance use is a good improvement.
