many people are a bit "once bitten twice shy". i hope a list of synths that work on this particular M1 machine might reassure some folk. I'd say the people more likely to jump into an upgrade have less plugins, so it might take a while to find reports of stuff that doesn't work. Anyways, I'll definitely report as soon as i come across plugins having issues on Sonoma.

So far it's just the ones you might expect, the hosts within hosts like the newly released Komplete Control 3, MPC 2.12, and Kontakt 7 is causing some issues for people in Digital Performer etc. Basically plugins that have either been updated right at the same time Sonoma came out, or that haven't been updated in a while, that can host other plugins. I haven't messed with Maschine or Unify enough to know if it's something to bring up, but Komplete Control 3 here is crashing in Digital Performer and Bitwig, in AU and VST3.

The benefits of Sonoma are worth the hassle though.

I think most people who are in the middle of large projects only update if they absolutely have to, such as in the case of a show-stopping bug.

Or, they are like me and have multiple machines and can sacrifice one for the cause.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

I mentioned in this thread a couple pages back Blue Cat Audio did a blog about how Sonoma was fixing issues DAWs and plugins were having with Ventura not handing off CPU intensive tasks to Performance cores, so CPU issues were happening because a process would be tied to an Efficiency core and bogging down your computer. That's IMO worth switching to Sonoma for, even if a few plugins run wonky for a couple months until updated etc.
