I tried it against my Roland 808 VST. Nepheton 2 sounds just as good and has far more features for routing/fx etc. If I had to pick one I would definitely pick Nepheton 2 butI am not sure I can justify it as well as the Roland one and the rather excellent 'Revolution in Live'...How many 808's is too many!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

downloaded it and immediately included it in a project, as an early impression it has an amazing flexibility of the instrument, channel strip and master section all together I am, step by step including in a mix in equilibration, without any external treatment
on that stage, very impressive and cleverly conceived...

I'm going to take a wild guess at the next release.....
Anyway I'm loving Nepheton now that I can see it again after all these years.
Looking forward to being able to play it while the sequencer is open as was mentioned a few pages back.

If you're not having any trouble reading the GUI of Nepheton 1 and will not use the added FX or sequencer, is it then worth the upgrade price?
I've upgraded Drumazon 1 to 2 for €29, but soundwise the core synth sounds did not really change apart from a subtle LP filter. It was cool though going through all the presets and see what you can do with the effects. You can really create sounds that you would not recognize as being 909 drum sounds, which is nice to learn from.

the sound engine of nepheton has been deeply rewritten , give a try to the demo you'll clearly hear it IMODark Fiber wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 8:36 am If you're not having any trouble reading the GUI of Nepheton 1 and will not use the added FX or sequencer, is it then worth the upgrade price?

In Drumazon 2 there were quite significant changes if comes to synthesis; there was rewritten noise generator (shared by most instruments), which is no longer regular white noise, but one based on linear feedback shift register + there were changes in cymbal generator as well.Dark Fiber wrote: Tue Dec 05, 2023 8:36 am If you're not having any trouble reading the GUI of Nepheton 1 and will not use the added FX or sequencer, is it then worth the upgrade price?

Nepheton 2's synthesis has also been revised with huge focus on cymbal sounds.

i'm getting close to 808 with the hats, but when i A/B with the hardware there is some magic in the release I cannot replicate, a defective component maybe, must be tough emulating those
sizzle
i've been on the middle oversampling though, i need to select Ultra or whatever next time i open Nepheton.
So good to have it back in my kit. Thank you D16 Group!

Anyone know if there's a time limit on the €29 upgrade offer?
(i don't see it, but D16 had it time limited for other recent upgrades, right?)
