Just tried the demo (and no, the PDF file contains the DOWNLOAD LINK! Yeah, it's dumb as f**k).
I still don't like the sound of Largo at all. Never did.. this doesn't change it.
Also, it's still stuck in early 2000 and doesn't respond to sample rate changes in host at all correctly. Filters and LFO speeds don't stay consistent, not even between 44 and 48kHz samplerates. It's just so damn amateurish. Really weird how a seemingly others reputable brand like Waldorf is so bad at coding a soft synth.

You mean when you change the sample rate of the project?bmanic wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2023 3:22 pm Also, it's still stuck in early 2000 and doesn't respond to sample rate changes in host at all correctly. Filters and LFO speeds don't stay consistent, not even between 44 and 48kHz samplerates.

had a moment to finally test it:
+1, hate the GUI ! / That much, i quickly quit.
to me, NOT worth the $ ( i am on applesilicon)
also, to me, they really drop their reputation with this one. very sad

I much preferred the color scheme from v1. Who tf thought this looks good?
I presume they’re going to give Lector a similar GUI.

I'm a little surprised they didn't update the manual with anything about the formant filters, for people unfamiliar with them.
I'm getting used to the GUI for the most part.
Parts of it won't be easy on the eyes unless they change it, but overall I like the new version.
I also kind of think that it should have been a free update for those who bought it a while ago,
and had to struggle with it for years.
But I'm not going to bitch too much about. At least they fixed some major parts so it's usable now.

Considering Largo is one of my most-loved synths 29€ is no big deal.
I'm pretty happy with the update, even though the GUI could use some more work: My main complaint is the contrast - too strong in the upper section, not enough in the lower. Makes it quite tiresome to look at, more so than old skin for sure.
Either way: Good job, Waldorf. Happy you're still working on your software products.

Talking about undercooked... it has a bug with parameters with bipolar value range like amp velocity, or filter envelope amount, where it doesn't account for negative values, when you set the parameter value by keyboard. For example, it sets to -64, when you type in 0 as a value. and -62, when you type in 2. I reported that bug. Well, at least I hope I did, because, it just took me back to the homepage after I filled in the contact form...digitalboytn wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2023 9:41 am My feeling is that this release is a little undercooked![]()

I've not found any new presets yetv1o wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2023 8:28 pm Is it worth upgrading for the new presets using the formant filters?

I don’t see how anyone can think Waldorf has done a good job here. Imagine any other developer releasing a v2 after 10 years, which is still annoying to use and buggy, only to add a resizable interface and a new filter, and then charge for it!?halcyon68 wrote: Sat Oct 28, 2023 7:35 pm Either way: Good job, Waldorf. Many reputable developers reward loyalty with free updates, some do charge, but only when the updated content is warranted. I’m a Waldorf fanboy and own an Iridium, but frankly they’re taking the p**s on this occasion and should be called out for it.

Can anyone comment if the sound has changed at all? The demo video sounds a lot sharper and clearer than I remember Largo V1 sounding.Robmobius wrote: Fri Oct 27, 2023 10:41 pm On paper, it's a great synth. But it always sounded mushy to me.
So if there is no significant sound enhancement I won't bother, tbh.

I wonder what they were thinking when they signed off on this release ?
No auto tune...
