I collaborate with people who still use the original Trash, so this new version is worth it for me even if it's just the original with Apple Silicon support and a more modern interface. Anything more is a bonus

I have Trash 2. The iZotope website only showed the ~47ish price in my account, but that is for crossgrading from an iZotope product other than the original Trash. I bought the ~29ish price upgrade from PluginBoutique and was able to register the serial in my iZotope account just fine, so if you have the original Trash maybe do that!

Entitled much...! These things are bound to take time to align, also plug in alliance.... I'm sure it'll all be native access before too long.LFO8 wrote: Tue Mar 12, 2024 6:13 pm When the hell are they going to streamline this whole thing? NI have taken over iZotope ages ago (or they merged or whatever). Then let us have a unified, streamlined experience .. jeez
Edit: nvm.. the straight download from the website is the full version instead of the ' light'
Ok.. thoughts.. I am glad I tried this... it is not for me. Not even an option to rescale the interface (AU on Mac). Some controls allow mouse-wheel control but then, others don't even-though it would make perfect sense to. Like the filter cutoff frequency..
Pass.. hard pass. Back to lovely Shaperbox.
It's hardly a problem to install.

On Elektronauts, some were comparing this to Ableton Roar. I have no idea if that is fair. Hard to believe the $29.99 upgrade price is such a rare offer it won't arise again. Probably will just wait until it's being given away as a freebie with another purchase.

Roar is great for Ableton users and there probably some overlap.kidslow wrote: Tue Mar 12, 2024 10:28 pm On Elektronauts, some were comparing this to Ableton Roar. I have no idea if that is fair. I think every saturation/distortion tends to have its own flavours. I think Trash has its own character. Doesn't always work for me, but when it does it can be excellent.
I think both would have their place.
*I can try sometimes 4-5 different distortions on a sound before being happy
**I can also leave a distortion I didn't really love on a synth part, thinking I'd need to change it, only to love it next time I opened the project...

If you're on their portal app, maybe needs an update?

Yeah I mentioned it in this thread, in my case it’s been a blank page mostly. It loaded earlier.thecontrolcentre wrote: Wed Mar 13, 2024 12:25 am Anyone else having trouble logging in to their iZotope account? You guys won’t have these troubles if you buy from a 3rd party store.

Ditto. If you manually enter the login page's URL, it's completely borked graphically and the Login button does nothing. I don't know wtf iZotope are doing, but they sure are making themelseves look incredibly incompetent.thecontrolcentre wrote: Wed Mar 13, 2024 12:25 am Anyone else having trouble logging in to their iZotope account? Okay maybe they are streamlining in order to satisfy the instant gratification producers more._leras wrote: Tue Mar 12, 2024 8:28 pmLooks like a really nice GUI update to me, would be much more useable. Current Trash 2 gui is clunky.soundmodel wrote: Tue Mar 12, 2024 10:24 am I don't find it worthwhile over Trash 2. Anyone else?
Tweaks seem mostly about usability and more samples.
For me Trash 2 doesn't always work well for sounds, sometimes can be a bi lt plasticy, but when it does work it can be really very good.
