It's where Landr post all of their press releases. No idea, why.starflakeprj wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 2:34 pmWTF?!jules99 wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 2:03 pm LandR has bought Reason:

But the link address though?
What do you want from Reason 13.5 or 14?

on one hand it certainly means ARA2 is coming to Reason soon plus it's (at least theoretically) a chance for a direly needed new start on the management side of things
on the other hand though these kind of takeovers rarely - if ever - end well.

Can we finally buy Reason Rack separately so I can just use it in my DAW?

You product managers @ RS (not calling any names here) did a very bad job.
You literally ruined the Propellerhead company and seperated the whole community into many different pieces with this rack plugin.
You never had a good interaction with your customers and your loyal users (e.g. "marker" or "folder").
If I were you, I'd keep my head down.

This could be a worry. I loved the Reason of Ernst. I still greatly valued the Reason of Verdane, despite the clear slide down the Dumbing Kilgore slope. LANDR, I have never been a fan of leading the charge to redefine that curve.jules99 wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 2:03 pm LandR has bought Reason:

Still, one must remain calm as what we have works (except that Seq window grrrr) and maybe, just maybe, they will not turn Reason into LandrLoopz.

Oh it's so overLandr said that Reason will “continue to operate as its own brand, maintaining its products, community, and creative DNA”, but that future plans include adding “deeper integrations, enhanced collaboration tools, and creator-focused, AI-powered features”.

AI is here to stay. It will definitely shift into all products (competitors like Cubase, Logic, Studio One, … included).
Love it of leave it.

I'm heart broken.
AI is not only a giant bubble (some 40% of the stock market), with no particular product, as they all 'hallucinate' ie produce horrifying errors, the training for them comes directly from stealing from you.
-
Either the user agreement will quietly change to: we may, at times, use parts of your materials to train our AI features, or they will simply wait until you publish or attempt to sell it and steal it then.
As they did with their 'training,' models and data sets, which they stole the from the internet.-
And for every dollar the AI companies make, they spend seven.
The data centers that power them destroy the local eco systems, and raise the power bill for everyone, and now Propellerheads is owned by a company proud of AI?
No. I already don't use their 'subscription' service, and now?
I suppose that'll be the first place they start stealing, as it's so convenient a place for user data.
-
Oh, and go to the U.S. copyright office and read up on how they feel about work that contains AI, but I'll sum up, they don't like it.
If they decide that your work has too much AI?
No copyright for you.
Which, you know, helps with the stealing.
For me, any product that proudly and actually doesn't use AI, that's a selling point for me, as it should be for all of us.
Farble them, their stealing eyes, and their lies.

That's great news. I'm only interested in Reason Rack Plugin. However it's still better as a subscription (which I hate) because it includes 89 Reason Rack devices. The one-time purchase doesn't seem to include all devices (I see 66) and it only covers point updates.
