Requires Apple Intelligence and macOS 15.4 - click the cog, enable the extension, and that's it.CinningBao wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 2:04 pm Not sure I care too much about AI notepad-stuff though

clicking the new cog-like thing does bugger all!

works on 15.3.1 for mejules99 wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 1:44 pm For anyone wondering, why it's not showing up as an update, you need at least macOS Sequoia 15.4 (I'm still with Sonoma).
ARA still broken.
They even added a feature for ARA - despite the fact that ARA doesn't work on Apple Silicon.

Long Faders! jfc. finally. not perfect but a nice thing regardless. it will have to do. was hoping for a click and drag type thing to stretch the fader box to any arbitrary height. i'll take it as is though. long faders. most excited about this for some reason.
i have apple intelligence turned off. ain't enabling that crap to run wild on my laptop. running latest MacOS. no issues w/installing/running the logic update.

Dang, still no ARA support? Even though I only have a limited number of plug-ins that support the format, I think that it could be very convenient, and a real timesaver. Oh well, maybe in the next update.Ploki wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 3:05 pmworks on 15.3.1 for mejules99 wrote: Wed May 28, 2025 1:44 pm For anyone wondering, why it's not showing up as an update, you need at least macOS Sequoia 15.4 (I'm still with Sonoma).

Now that I have my plug-ins installed and updated, I don’t plan on upgrading my Mac to Sequoia anytime soon. I’ve got my MBP running the latest version of Sonoma, and I’d like to keep that system lean and mean, since I use it on the road. I prefer stability and reliability over the latest bells and whistles.

There are a few somewhat minor things that are worth a mention. You can delete all the categories in the Plugin Manager, which if you did would leave you with a cleaner plugin menu. The option to have long faders is nice - if your mixer is on a 2nd screen it's not so scrunched anymore. Search now works in the sidechain plugin picker. Being able to phase reverse the early reflections in the QRS is cool. It's the little things...
Anyway the bigger update that's in the pipeline is going to be great.

side chain search is a really clutch feature I won't lie. that becomes a huge quality of life feature in a large project.

I appreciate the QOL updates and the bug fixes, understandably logic is a behemoth to work on at this point. Just wish they threw more resources at the program, revamping the remaining outdated plugins and modernizing alchemy’s feature set would go a long way

I too appreciate the QOL updates in 11.2, but overall a bit disappointed, especially because Browser still did not get the attention it badly needs.
For now at least, I mainly liked:
- Long faders
- Search tracks
- Renaming tracks/regions

Needs (and formally requested)
-a simple clipper (yes, I know the workarounds; the fact that there has to be workarounds is dumb)
-better sounding limiter
-new modular channel strip incorporating their compressor, limiter, vintage EQ, and Chromaglow
-improvements to Mastering Assistant (overall quality)
-add auto-gain feature to Chromaglow
-improvements to Channel EQ (allow individual filters assigned to stereo/MS/LR, dynamic control)
-New LFO and envelope tool to modulate plugin parameters on Aux tracks
-improvements to Modulator (eg one LFO to be assignable to multiple parameters)
-improvements to LCD display (customizable beat clock, time, CPU use, drag and drop, etc)
-ARA compatibility for Apple Silicon
-universal browser (presets, loops, channel strips, etc one browser to rule them all)
-use non-proprietary audio format for Apple Sound Library sounds
-bring back Option-click-drag to copy Sends from one channel strip to another

true indeed, even better than spectralayer pro 11, though a bit limited in comparison, more focused on giving usable tracks inside the host program

Yeah, I finally got around to trying it out last night and was pretty impressed at how much better the individual stems sound and the ability to strip out guitar and piano is pretty incredible. I'm also loving the long faders. Those are really the only two new features I've explored/used so far.

I read recently that Logic used to have some sort of built-in feature for distributing processing across a network.
It seems that MacOS and iOS are now at a stage where such things could work very smoothly.

I dont think they’ll re-implement it tho, considering how stupid powerful Max and Ultra chips are.
It didn’t work super reliably anyway, was trying to utilise my 2008 macbook pro with my mac pro octo back in the day and wasn’t worth the hassle

Just made an instant comparison between Logic and Spectralayers pro 11, though spectra layers still gives usable stems at a send/return situation, logic has an undoubtedly better (and relevant) work of instruments separation
I'm waiting for Spectralayer 12 too see how the soft might have been improved since... to have then a new instant comparison
