I wish I could turn Reason back into just synths/fx/sequencer. It's a big mess now, for me, and not intuitive.
Also the early sequencer was better. I'm not saying Reason ever had a _great_ sequencer, but it was faster and clearer in early versions.

If it wasn't for the RRP I wouldn't be using Reason at all. But then I'm not sure if just using the RRP qualifies as using "Reason". Wait - am I a Reason user??

Agreed, while the new-improved Seq improves some things (technically esp for Hipsters with laptops and 3-track songs) it has lost some of the wonderful clarity and simplicity of the Reason seq to this point. Sadly I am not entirely convinced they nailed the faster thing with the new Seq window. Overall tho still ahead of most DAWs so not going anywhere.I_Am_Become_KVR wrote: Tue Feb 18, 2025 3:43 am I wish I could turn Reason back into just synths/fx/sequencer. I haven't actually tried the new sequencer updates. I think my last upgrade was V9 maybe? I'm thinking about getting the latest Reason, just because I have so many dang songs in reason format. But, I'm moving away from using it for new projects... trying to use just VST's in regular daws, and/or learn FL Studio better for its nicer piano roll. Still, I've been with Reason a long time...

R1 seq was simple as a water cracker but it was a joy.
I don't remember how it was at R3.
I was very happy with R12.

Reason 4 was probably my favorite Reason sequencer. They gave Reason a clip based workflow and some cool take commands. Perfect sequencer for people who actually play keyboard parts in.I_Am_Become_KVR wrote: Wed Feb 19, 2025 11:28 amHah, I meant the earllllllly sequencer (Reason 3.0 etc)Benedict wrote: Wed Feb 19, 2025 3:29 amAgreed, while the new-improved Seq improves some things (technically esp for Hipsters with laptops and 3-track songs) it has lost some of the wonderful clarity and simplicity of the Reason seq to this point. Reason never had the best piano Roll. And it's drum programming was OK but I doubt it was the best (but probably not the worst either)
I have no idea of how good or bad Piano roll is now.

Still looks like crap to me. Spending all the time resizing the piano roll instead of making music... the number 1 problem with many daws.

If anyone knew anything they weren't allowed to tell, since it's generally prohibited to talk about beta versions outside the beta-forum.

in the sense of bug fixes yes, but in the sense of new implementations nothing special

Well, I don't think anyone expected something new or groundbreaking in point release. It would take them 4 years to release something really newKIMCHRISTOPHER wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 5:43 pm in the sense of bug fixes yes, but in the sense of new implementations nothing special
