Yes! 100% :tu:

And after that next big major update will be fixing the import function’s major bugs :D

Ya, they really aren't walking their talk are they? I'm a bit concerned for the future of S1.

Surely the lesson, like all these things, is to make buying decision based on what's actually there, not what's promised. There's nothing in v7 that I actually want which is a bit disappointing but at least it saves me money.

This is so true!

But still - the promises were quite alluring and I think many people did consider Studio One/presonus trust forthy. I don’t know if those promises (major updates) will be delivered during the time frame they were promised and does that actually effect to people’s trust on Studio1 or not.

But for me, I am looking how Studio1 will develop for a while since there is nothing I really need in v7 at the moment. It would be awesome if Studio1 v7 (or 8 if they don’t have time/energy to focus on the v7) would bring quality of life improvements. And no I don’t feel better interaction with Splice or new subscription models would make it for me :D

Hmmm...Presonus trustworthy? Pe-Fender I may have agreed but since they were bought out I'd say their reputation, in my eyes, has taken a nose dive.

Since then there have been a few dodgy moves which soured their brand, but without doubt the most heinous, and most appalling is the way they treated their perpetual licence holders. Their most long standard and loyal customers.

Removing pretty much all the value from a perpetual licence (iirc they made it worth $50) was unforgivable.

You mean having to pay a potential buyer $50, right? :D That's how it feels ..

Wasn't Studio One about taking the best things from other DAW's and making them .. better? I think I can still remember something. Anyhow, they've picked up on a lot of s**t from Pro Tools as of lately .. those guys haven't seen an update in ages and that yearly update fee is just as useless to them.

And the lack of FREE demo at the begging of version7 was a bit strange… Sure you could subscribe for just a month and try the S1 v7 but it’s not same as free. So for me it felt very disappointing move.

Lukas has stated on the Studio One forum that the newest update will be "soon". No time frame, but something is coming. Presonus didn't switch out of the v7 model with the last update, so the new update may be the start of what they were actually planning in the release video. He's also stated that Presous is hiring more programmers, so this may just be the calm before the storm. Or, maybe not. We'll just have to see.
What sound do dreams make when they die?

Presonus shot themselves in the foot by claiming 4 major updates within a year. We haven't even saw one MAJOR update yet beyond v7. Their 7.1 was NOT a MAJOR update.
