Absolute classic.
Also makes me sad that Rik Mayall is no longer with us.
Absolute classic.
Pls tell me about them...twolegstoneworks wrote: Wed Jul 09, 2025 8:07 pm It would be great fun to play with Ohmicide again, but not at that upgrade-price! There's so many more alternatives these days, so just moving on here...
I don’t know the details of the company but I do know that ohmicide is not an overrated nostalgia product. The hype was always real.jamcat wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 6:09 pm I’m seeing a lot of people complaining about the “upgrade” price. But I would remind you all that this “Ohmforce” is not at all the original Ohmforce. So this new group likely bought the IP and are starting from a deficit. After investing in the dilapidated IP, they spent many years deconstructing and reconstructing it into something usable on modern systems.
So you should not be surprised by the “upgrade” price because it’s really not an upgrade. It’s a new product from a new company that has had a considerable start-up cost to get here, and is only tangentially connected to the overrated nostalgia product it is marketed as.
Agreed!cryophonik wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 2:17 pm I was on the fence with the $95 upgrade simply because, even though I own all of their older plugins (except Infinity), I really don’t need another distortion. But then I noticed the $131 price for OhmicideS+Infinity, started watching and listening to demos of both, and now I think I’m sold. $65 each? Yeah, that’s close enough to no-brainer for me.
If that was true, the original Ohmforce would still be around.dayjob wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 6:28 pm I don’t know the details of the company but I do know that ohmicide is not an overrated nostalgia product. The hype was always real.
I thought that the old company went under trying to make their collaborative DAW thing.
I always figured they ended up selling the underlying collaboration code, that's all that was left of the company years ago. There was a link in their old website to a separate company they set up to sell the code businesses etc. can't find it now.Ah_Dziz wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 9:15 pm I thought that the old company went under trying to make their collaborative DAW thing.

Some third parties resellers going crazy of contract maybe?Greenstorm33 wrote: Thu Jul 10, 2025 11:56 pm To be clear I'm not asking for bargain-bin prices, just...not $95 for a single plugin upgrade. At $50 or even $60 as an intro offer I'd have been in immediately. Also I'll note that I got Ohmicide for $30 in 2013 so you all were in the Crazy Sales bracket even before Waves et al. had fully pulled the rug out from under the market![]()
We definitely understand that a lot of people needs those sales to be able to purchase the plugin and we're not forgetting them. Would suggest to make sure you're subscribed to our newsletter or social networks were we announce those.
This really stood out for me. This does not seem in any way the same company I bought so many things from over 10 years ago. Ohmforce then all but disappeared and now we have this version of Ohmforce. I'm looking at Ohmforce as part new company, part company I am skeptical about. That's experience and observation over the course of 20 years I'm talking about, so I'm not hurt in my butt or anywhere else. To be honest this is all irrespective of the upgrade price. I think it's too high but that a separate matter. Just calling it as I see it.Caine123 wrote: Fri Jul 11, 2025 7:49 am for me, im pretty disappointed and wouldnt have thought your company is like that
