Reaktor blocks and most of the synths I use within Reaktor are fully automatable, even in a fully virtual modular rack...Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Nov 27, 2025 4:12 pm While I understand that Absynth can't allow automation of all it's parameters since it's so modular, there are plenty in it's modules that ocul dbe automatable without having to use the macros, so I hope they enable that. The oscillators, filters, envlopes and effects on the main page could easily allow direct automation. I hope they open up parameters to direct automation. They went the wrong direction with Massive X but recent posts by NI have stated they are enabling direct parameter automation for Massive X so maybe a chance that Absynth will have more than just the macros?
By the Absynth has the coolest mutation feature before Omnisphere 3 made it cool.

Question for longtime Massive users: Did the sound change in Massive X compared to the original versions?
I’m really hoping Absynth 6 stays true to its original character. It would be very disappointing if NI were to tweak the audio engine just to 'modernize' the tone. I’ll be able to tell right away if something’s different. If the sound changes, the new features won’t matter much to me—the tone is what made Absynth special in the first place.

Massive X was a completely new synths. It was not Massive 2. And yes it had a different character. Presets from Massive can not be loaded into Massive X.Raddler1 wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 4:19 am Question for longtime Massive users: Did the sound change in Massive X compared to the original versions?

Absynth 6 is not Absynth X and presets will be compatible, is what we're hearing.

As many directly automatable parameters as possible. Enable automation if necessary, though better to not have to enable. Resizable UI. Better controls (maybe plasmonic style rather than the three diamonds for resolution). MPE.Touch The Universe wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 6:02 am What possible new features could there be or would you guys request?
That would be enough for me. Though Alchemy style spectral/additive sample resynthesis would fit nicely in Absynth I think, and would be most welcome.

Yeah it didn’t just change. It’s totally different. Massive X doesn’t share any DNA with the original Massive, other than the name and the drag and drop modulation system, IMHO. OG Massive sounds like a vst from the 2000s, MX sounds like you would expect a hardware to sound like, in so may respects.Raddler1 wrote: Fri Nov 28, 2025 4:19 am Question for longtime Massive users: Did the sound change in Massive X compared to the original versions?

Super proud to say that we at Ocean Swift contributed a couple of hundred samples and 125 or so presets to the factory content.
This synth is just amazing, working for a long time and getting into the "zone" with it, is so unique and rewarding. The update is not insane in terms of features, but totally cleans up the UX and makes sound designing that much fun.
With everything going on in the synthesis chain being polyphonic per note, and the fx such as ring modulators and freq shifters able to respond to per note modulation based on ratios of the incoming frequency is special! We used techniques around this a lot in our presets, and combined with the overhauled macro system there is a lot of meaningful quick tweakable playability to the sound textures.
Can't wait for this to come out! Of course - all our Absynth 5 preset packs are perfectly compatible with this update. We knew about this for a while and could not say a word, people were wondering why we are pushing our Absynth content so hard when NI is no loner selling it - well here we goooooo!

There are a few new Ladder filters, that sound better than the current corresponding Absynth 5 ones, but nothing beyond at least with the initial release.
There is also an improved HQ algo on the Cloud.
