What link are you talking about ?sidhu wrote:the getting started guide link is still broken.
Our download page :
http://www.e-officedirect.com/FLStudio/ ... ts/86.html
Links to :
http://dl2.e-officedirect.com/fruityloo ... nglish.zip
Which seems to work fine from here.
Or are you talking about something else ?

Press F5 and the playlist will appear. You put the pattern you want to repeat over there and then play in the song mode.sidhu wrote:Thaks donkey, now im being lazy, but just for tonight. How do I do that ?

From reason, what I want to do is export the pattern from my step sequencer, to the playlist.Donkey wrote:Press F5 and the playlist will appear. I rekon ure telling me the same thing, I cant yet figure how to get it to the playlist.
I have both the playlist and the pattern seq. open right now.

That'll be why it doesn't work then.sidhu wrote:I'm using Firefox.
FWMHOIW, I've just switched back to FL Studio from Reason. With the timestretching, automation clips, Acid and Rex file support, and the video player, I can now do all my work in Fruity, whereas I always ended up ReWiring Reason to something else.

figured. the selected 'xPattern' in the playlist window relates to the current pattern in the pattern seq.sidhu wrote:From reason, what I want to do is export the pattern from my step sequencer, to the playlist.Donkey wrote:Press F5 and the playlist will appear. Now, we can ofcourse copy everything in pattern 1 of the step seq. to a new pattern, in the step seq.
I think ill now open the manual, and move on to the FL forums. I hope they are as good.

Fruity also crashed on my several times trying to rewire it to Live, it took down my audio system. But the worst crash happened just trying to open up one of FL's internal sound sources (I don't know which one) and the machine made a continuous loud noise, it probably would have blown out my speakers had they been turned up more, and I hard reset the machine right away. I haven't launched it since.
Anyway, I'll stick with the non-buggy software that plays nice with other applications and doesn't crash my system. I'm not willing to risk any damage to my system running someone's demo.

Thinking about it, another time that the FL crashed my system was when I tried to load the "Titanic" soundfont into the Fruity Soundfont player. The whole system simply ground to a halt, and after waiting awhile I realised FL wasn't about to recover from the ordeal of trying to load a large but excellent soundfont.
By way of comparisson, in Reason the NN-XT sampler loads the whole of the Titanic soundfont in less than a second.
To my way of thinking and working there are simply TOO many ways in which Reason is a better piece of software coding than FL! As a professional musician and teacher I need software that consistently works and does what it claims.
But of course I am using Tracktion/Audition/Live as hosts, so I don't need my Reason to fulfil that role. If you don't already have a top-drawer host your needs will be different.

wondering if JMC would like to comment on that, and if such anomalies occur reglarly...headquest wrote:Thinking about it, another time that the FL crashed my system was when I tried to load the "Titanic" soundfont into the Fruity Soundfont player. Big sample banks will be important. tell me, how much does a good V sampler cost in the market, one at par with the NN-xt
And how does the FL sampler lack vis-a-vis NN-XT ? ignore stability.
