no pro keyboardist over there either I guess. I suggest you buy a vowel.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

It's been proven that, quantitatively, there is no difference in audio processing processing between most applications. As such, your assertion that the sound quality is inferior in FL Studio is incorrect, and more importantly, groundless.
I have read alot of bullshit on message boards, but that is the absolute cream of the crap.

Really? I would like you to show me the study that quantitatively proves that the crappy little reverb plugin that comes with FLStudio,

sounds as good as Emagic Space Designer.

Get a clue.

lol!
Well Space designer sure looks a lot nicer than the Fruity reeverb...but... I don't know what it sounds like, because I don't have a MAC...

However...your comparison is pointles because FL Studio can run any VST or DX reverb I care to install, many of which may sound as good as or even better than Space Designer.....

Space Designer Pros: Infinite reverb-effect possibilities. Excellent interface. Includes wealth of sampled material and presets.

Space Designer Cons: Works only with Logic 6.3.

hehehehe That's a pretty big con IMHO!

Fl Studio is an open system ..Logic is not.

I do not have fruit on my computer, and it looks like a kids toy, whereas Orion looks like soundcraft.

Logic is an open system, you can use wrappers.

Pseudonoise: You have not only compared two totally different kinds of reverbs(a convolution one_logic's_ with a classic one_fruity's_) but you have based your very meaningful comparison on the GUI criterion.

Cream of the crap indeed.

It sure makes it sound way better. I wish it'd look like a NEVE, it would sound even better.

that space designer sure does look cool,I don't know really ,but I suspect that crap gui job could do the same job. What can I say I'm a succour for good gui's,I line them up neatly before I play, all that movement helps with the flow.I know the the reality is it doesn't matter shiit. It is not rational I know, again I say I do not have fruit on my computer,I want to be a grown up,and FL is for kids.

After using FLstudio for 3 years I have just made the leap to Cubase SX3. I can safely say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made with my music. My work rate has risen dramaticly since using Cubase SX and it only took about a week to get used to the routing, recording and mixing facilities.

I would agree with the "controversial" issue that FL "colours" the sound. I have been transfering my old tracks from FL to Cubase, using FL to export patches to the Cubase format. The difference in sound is amazing. I really feel like I can trust the sound that Cubase is producing compared to FL Studio.

I was quite against Cubase as I remeber using VST 5 several years ago at college and finding it wasn't a particularly stable program. SX 3 has been rock solid for me.

Don't get me wrong - FL Studio is a great program and the speed at which you can create tracks is a real bonus. However I always found that the interface could get extremely messy if you were working on a large song with lots of parts, automation and plugins. Also the lack of a "freeze" facility was a major setback for me in FLstudio. Yes you can bounce to audio and remove the plugin - but its just so much hassle.

I just find that Cubase really lets me do what I want to do in a "no-fuss" way leaving me with more time to concentrate on the music itself rather than the technicalities of producing it.

Whatev, so comparing a VW Beetle engine to an F1 engine isn't valid because they use different technology? I guess it's invalid to compare any two programs that have different algorithms then? WTF.

Besides, a classic reverb is just a VERY rough mathematical approximation of the sound space that a convolutional reverb models exactly off a ping. So this is actually the MOST VALID comparison you could make.

Convolutional reverb is better, and FL Studio does not include top quality components.

If you read my original post in this thread, my whole point was that it is impossible to work on the cutting edge of sound design using FLStudio components. So comparing a FL Studio component to one that is 100x more advanced is the perfect argument.
quantitatively, there is no difference in audio processing

the "sound " is what you make it ,it just looks like fruit.

Keep it this way, you'll undoubtably become a grown up moron.

Iv got fruity loops but removed it to reduce the amount of clutter on my machine. It works quite well on cheap bargain basement machines without the need for a midi controller. Actualy, the no-frills real cheap bargain basement machines are very quiet. Fruity Loops is a good sequencer and it will accept third party VST/DX if you don't like the internal ones. I think Psycle is far better sequencer, very versatile and free, though it is a bit fiddly to run. Orion platinum? is quite a good sequencer. If your not too serious about it fruity loops is quite good.

again, there are certain advantages in cherishing naievity, that once you "truelly know" you have become a slave. But I don't like fruit on my computer because it doesn't look right.
