Kingston has it on a switch, original gyraf side chain -> oxford mode. Big difference on ALL stereo material, no matter if it has bass or not.
FYI The Glue has a dual amp / dual shaper / dual diode side-chain design so you get an "abs" like but not exactly the same as abs response from the left and right signals.

macattackamac wrote:thanks for the build, installed ok, it is shown in the list, i load it.. but then again, no presets??
where are they hidden?
i use Logic.

thanks
The presets are still under way and will be released with a future update soon. An manual will be done as well, and a readme and a few other touches to finish the packaging. If you would like some help with using the compressor till the presets arrive I'm sure everyone here will be able to help out :)

no no, no problem :)
i already learned how to handle it, it's easy enough :D
and it sounds great too.
look forward to the manual n stuff.

take care :)

I'll post clips once we get it back in the studio and I'm sure Kingston will be glad to answer any PM you send him about it. I don't know what components he changed except the much higher quality "jelly beans" (those small IC's). They usually cost like 40 cents each but he replaced them with some costing 10 times the price and it seems to make quite a difference (when compared to the unit we have at the studio which is the exact Gyraf SSL clone + the stereo sidechain). It also measured ridiculously well, self noise below 110dB, total mastering grade stuff.

Cheers!

Alright, I did some reading up and have ordered a turbo board. We'll hear. :-)

Post

how much does the "high-end" version of the self made SSL cost?
