so... Im assuming there is not note/voice per channel implementation.UmFuFu wrote:Hey UVI!
Any plans for a MIDI-Note-Per-Channel mode for some of the newer controllers coming onto the market (i.e. Roli, Linnstrument, etc)?
Thanks!
BUT, it is multi timbral, and from the manual it seems each part can respond to a different midi channel (correct?)
... if so, If I put the same preset into each part it could work, but the question is:
if I change one part how easy is it to copy that change to the other parts?
I think Omnisphere has a 'copy part to others parts (or something similar), does Falcon make this easy?
or do I have to save the preset, and then go to very other part and reload it?

See I was trying to do some multi source to single value setup in Falcon and found it VERY tedious, and I had difficulty finding it again when I figured out what I was doing wrong and went back to fix it. So, if you understand it, I can see it will be faster to set up in Falcon. However, from a maintenance/visibility standpoint I'm not convinced yet.Sampleconstruct wrote: Yes, HALion still uses this very old school mod matrix which I find to be somewhat of a workflow killer compared to Falcon.
Hopefully this is on the radar for Falcon. It's a total buzzkill ... guess who never plans anything out .. I usually just sort of arrive somewhere after wandering around.HALion can batch-edit things on oscillator basis though
I think I'd like at least 2 more operators on the FM oscillator, but I'm wondering if some of the other modulation options will fill the void. But in general the additional oscillators are great. I'm trying to learn them individually before branching out so am primarily messing with FM and Wavetable. I'm looking forward to messing with pluck, and curious how the organ will compare to the H5 drawbar. I'm also curious if there is an H6 coming with new oscillators. Too many good toys!!!!But synthesis- and sound-wise Falcon clearly wins if we consider the entire palette.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

I didn't think about crossgrades. I suppose there is no crossgrade from Halion 5Soman wrote:EDIT: Finally thanks to Olivier's help I got the crossgrade discount! Can't wait to try out and work with the Falcon now!
Still haven't heard from the support about my missing crossgrade price issue...On Monday the intro pricing ends and I really need to have a statement by then.
Setting that aside, given the advertised features, I think the introductory price is a very good deal, especially given that there is a $100 voucher included.

Well, it is even easier.thetechnobear wrote:so... Im assuming there is not note/voice per channel implementation.UmFuFu wrote:Hey UVI!

Just need to put the part MIDI channel to Omni then script the thing to handle things in a polyphonic manner.
Using the script you can already modify pitch, pan and volume on a per voice basis.
Not saying this is a 2 line script but this is definitively doable.
FWIW we already handle poly aftertouch in the engine itself, so you can as well translate some event on different midi channel as poly aftertouch events for different note by keeping track of what is playing.
Not very difficult for someone with experience, but still not a 2 line script.

Connected MIDI CC sources will be displayed in 1.0.1 treeview FWIWSJ_Digriz wrote: See I was trying to do some multi source to single value setup in Falcon and found it VERY tedious, and I had difficulty finding it again when I figured out what I was doing wrong and went back to fix it. Hi Oliver, that's very interesting. Is the access to poly aftertouch via scripting documented somewhere? I honestly haven't looked at the Lua stuff for Falcon yet, but I've dabbled with it in Reaper. Just wondering where I should look. Poly aftertouch is really powerful, I don't believe I've run into a patch where this is being used in Falcon. Can you point me to one?otristan wrote: FWIW we already handle poly aftertouch in the engine itself

You don't need the script for poly after touch, this is just a mod source like others.SJ_Digriz wrote:Hi Oliver, that's very interesting. I don't think there is a patch using it though as there are very few keyboard using.
Just right click the pitch and
Add Modulation > Poly Afetr touch
And voila !

For those of you who have MachFive 3, I have question about MOTU registration.
I bought MF3 last year as a crossgrade. Installed and authorized to ilok.
Now with this Falcon crossgrade, I went to the MOTU site and discovered that MF3 is not registered in my MOTU account (I don't own any other MOTU products). When I went to register it, I discovered that I was never issued a serial number (or at least I think I wasn't). I was only given the ilok auth code, and a separate code for the UVI FX library.
Is there a way to register this with MOTU? The website says to see the instructions given with the product. But there are no instructions (I have all original packaging and receipts). Can anyone help or at least point me in the right direction?
I haven't sent MOTU a ticket yet, but I will. Just thought I'd ask here first to make sure I didn't miss something very obvious.
Thanks

There should've been pretty extensive instructions in the box. You have to contact MOTU at least by email or by phone and they will walk you through the registration process they will ask you to provide proof of your previous ownership of one of the cross grading products and proof of the purchase of the cross grade and then they will set you up with a serial number.BERFAB wrote:For those of you who have MachFive 3, I have question about MOTU registration.

They are all loading just fine for me here.Sampleconstruct wrote:Well, I delivered them alright.aMUSEd wrote:OK I have just installed this (thanks again for the M5 crossgrade)
Not sure if anyone else has reported this but the first experimental patch "Ambient pad quencer" is giving me this message
I have the Falcon UFS mounted so why is it missing? More importantly when I run the search function it crashes in standalone.
EDIT actually the whole bank is reporting missing samples!
Maybe try re-downloading?
EDIT: I see you have already done so
