Just a quickie question, but was the effects version of Synthmaster One fixed to accept audio input? And also audio input to the juicy unison effects?

Edit: Still awaiting an answer or not.

Sweet; thanks. That nag screen was irritating. Any idea how close you are to getting 1.1 out?
I'll upload a new build tomorrow at http://betas.synthmaster.com/downloadupdates.aspx that one should be pretty ready, except a couple of bug fixes, normalized preset levels and user manual.

Bulent, Would you please look into:

- The 'https' page of the beta DL site lists the old versions 2.8.10 and 1.0.5. not the updated ones.

- Although I use the 'https' my browser (Opera) still reports an unsecured connection! :(

Great....If it isn't too much additional programming, I am not sure why in SMone I would want to see SM2 presets and vice versa.
thanks

You will see SM1 presets loading in SM3 hopefuly next year! I am also planning to increase the number of layers to 4 in SM1 and if I can come up with new effects in SM3 those will be part of SM1 as well next year.

4 Layer SM1 will be our codebase for the hardware version of SM1

i want officially to make statement adressed to kv331- stop giving such a cool synths for these ridiculous prices ...not sure virus users can achieve some of the sounds sm1 play through my speakers right now...easily ...at all :):):)Cheerz :)

Yeah but the fact of the matter is we can not sell enough licenses. We have around 500 new (not crossgrade) SM1 licenses sold this year, it's very much under what we estimated for this year.

Ugg. I must shill more for you. Great synth. People don't know what they're missing.

Ok from business point of view it's justified, but probably with next updates you better bring army of crazy sound designers to show what this machines can do and level some optimal prices, cuz many people judge by low price and consider it for low quality - i myself was deluded in d begginning but since especially last week i was totally shocked and amazed what sm1 can do if man force himself and d synth to squeeze d max - for sm3 even don't try to imagine what will be - huge fan of your work...

Possible upcoming kv331 drum machine and hw synth? Seems like I have to start to save money already :D

Talking about sm1 sales, maybe the marketing of the synth is wrong somehow, or maybe the name.. My image (before I bought the crossgrade) of the synth was that it'd be a cut down version of synthmaster.

Now I find myself reaching for it every time I start a new project.

Synthmaster waverider? Synthmaster growl? Dunno.. But "one" might be a bit misleading :P

That's sad... :/ but I can tell you how I learned about synthmaster about a year ago - through iOS player. I first bought iOS player and than later synthmaster. And if synthmaster was iOS AU I think even more people would pay attention to it as AUv3 seems quite a hot topic in mobile music production. Just my case... Also I think you have to think about bread and butter presets (clean basic sounds with character as currently lot of presets are quite bizarre and I rather can't pick one to modify, but have to design my own from scratch) for your synthmaster 3 and maybe about how to emulate some good sampled acoustic instruments as simple as ThumbJam has for example... what would make synthmaster step outside VA territory to sampling... probably

Is SM1 a simplified version of synthmaster or is it a different thing altogether?

Post

That 500 number surprises me. I turned another producer friend of mine in ja onto it and he feel in love with it. He wanted a new synth to add creativity to his workflow and this hit the nail on the head. (He does dancehall and reggae music)

I wonder if it is the naming that is holding it back in parts.
The name does indeed sound like a cut down synthmaster2, or even an earlier version of synthmaster2.

It sounds great, very easy to use (tbh I use it more than synthmaster2 for that reason), comes with great presets, very inexpensive, and compared to its sibling, to me much more stable and got to a point of stability so much quicker (which would be obvious since the programmer would be much more experienced).

My other fear (besides the name concern) is for future, with the adding of new features. For me SM2 seems with all the added feature like a whole heap of stuff crammed into an already full cupboard...... I hope SMone doesn't get that way.

What do others think?

I like to think of it as a different but very capable thing. It has true wavetable support, for one thing.

Combination SM1+Sylenth1 is super inspirational team to me now - perfectly complete each other, super easy to translate ideas and to continue it different way :)

How would I describe Syntmaster One... If Serum and Sylenth1 had a baby? :D

It has similarities to Synthmaster but having "only" one layer (maybe the name comes from that?). And oscillator section is different since it reads wavetables.

I've never had issues with Synthmaster, it's always been a blast to make sounds with it. But SM1 it's now even faster and more fun to make usable basic building blocks for songs. I tend to get a bit too complicated with Synthmaster and a basic pluck may quickly turn to something moprhable growlplucketherealthingy :P

Or if Serum and Sylenth1 had a baby, then when it grows up, it'd have a baby with Synthmaster.. Though Synthmaster would be old as heck so it'd be a bit dirty.. Though I can't accuse anyone since when I'm 50+, I'd gladly have a 20+ girlfriend.
