Playing with a J-8 demo, and I have a issue - can't render first note. Tested in Renoise, Mixcraft, Cakewalk. It's a bug or demo related? Any had this issue?

Post

It's a bug.

Post

And developer knows about it?

Post

If he didn't by now, now he does because I've finally sent him an e-mail about that. :D

Post

Probably DAW(s) specific.
It has never happened to me in Cubendo Mac or PC.

Happens in Reaper too.

I don't know but...some knobs/parameters on TAL plugins have this 'steppy'/not smooth or continuous response. Noticeable by moving the parameters slowly while playing a sound. In J-8, it happens here with the VCF 'env mod' (already reported to Patrick and he confirmed as a bug), 'PW Mod' (manual mode), and I think others as well. I think the 'PW' on Tal-Mod and the 'Phase' parameter do something similar, and several other parameters across some TAL plugins (not U-NO-LX though). This is not the case with other plugins.

Anyone notice this?

They also nailed the CZ (of course, because the developer of VirtualCZ basically did it as v2 of VirtualCZ), the Buchla Easel, and to be honest, Fairlight and CMI sound spectacular as well...
Agree, they all sound complety different! And great.

J8 has the colored buttons, ergo better-than. Next comparison, please! :D

I don't think I realized quite how different they were. Good stuff. Definitely want a J-6 even more now.

J-6 has a very different character. Almost un-Roland-like (no wonder since they went with Curtis chips there). Jexus' review is (as it almost always is) damn spot on.

1.3.2 fixed the note from beginning of project not playing (it was a VST2 only issue).

Thanks.
A bit surprised you were using vst2 not vst3.

I'm only using VST3 if there are actual merits to using it or if VST2 is not available.

I still have Kore 2 here and that one is VST2 only :)
