Oh boy. So just for the hell of it, I loaded up the default skin again and tried to see if there were any inconsistencies there. And yup, there are. Actually most of the ones I found in the Satyatunes Skin are there in the defaults too. Arrrg. Now I'm always going to notice, darnit.

I think it needs simplifying for 3.0, less things that can go wrong, the better. Maybe a vector interface so scaling is not with bitmaps.

The last build looks pretty stable, hopefuly I won't be making frequent releases, but even if I do the version number can go beyond 2.9.11 and aboveAliens wrote: How so? There's no problem in having 2.9.11 or 2.9.35
There can be, and are, an infinite number of version numbers left before v3 comes around.
About the GUI inconsistencies: I will have a solution to prevent that in v3.0. Right now, each section (Layer 1 Osc 1, Layer 1Osc2, Layer 2 Osc 1, Layer 2 Osc2 for instance) has its own separate UI definition. Instead, it should be "template" based: One template for Osc, one template for filter, one template for layer. etc etc. This way there would be minimal UI inconsistencies.

Oof, that sucks. Just checked, not having any issues like that, and all the text looks fine.. There's a size inconsistency between the OSC1/2 screens and the MOD1/2/3/4 screens, but not totally sure if that's intentional or not, since there are different controls at the top between the screens.AJYoung wrote:kv331 wrote: In addition, tons of text is cropped poorly or cut off where it shouldn't be. It just looks... unprofessional. I really really like the Satyatunes skin, but these sort of things turn me off from it.

Man, that'd be great. Although it does mean we wouldn't get any user-created skins, which personally I always like being able to do. Getting skins in Serum was huge.braj wrote:I think it needs simplifying for 3.0, less things that can go wrong, the better. Maybe a vector interface so scaling is not with bitmaps.

To be honest I would love to see someone bought in to do a total skin overhaul with SM, it's just never quite cutting in when you look at others out there. The new Zebra skins nice, Spire, Serum...list goes on.

There is a bold red line at the bottom edge of the gui in Komplete Kontrol with the Satya skin (120%, but not 100%)

I did a graphics app 'convert to grayscale' on all the red stuff,
after copying them to a safe place. A barn-yard fix, but
I'm familiar with barns.

BTW, sort of OT, but we are back on our KV331 Audio from here on KVR Audio. Sorry about our non-existent status on that forum for the past year, that won't happen anymore.

I really like the default skin. Very logical and actually easy on the eyes in a dark room. Unique in its own way.MFXxx wrote:To be honest I would love to see someone bought in to do a total skin overhaul with SM, it's just never quite cutting in when you look at others out there. We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

Might be easier for users who don't come on kvr often to find current info on synthmaster.

On thing Id like to ask is there a way to install without installing the presets or just installing new presets? Would save a lot of time for established users with organised libraries.
Thanks and Merry Christmas.
