They are great and all, but VERY limited comparing to Rapid.Taurus wrote:Look at the sound quality of Repro-1 and The Legend. They have a real price for todays topsynth. With your price politic the users will wait for the "free" version. You will notice that your orders will go down in the future, I promise that.parawave wrote:I don't know what you mean, does that mean you think there are too few videos from 3rd parties? It's just 3 months since release and there are a bunch of review and sound videos out there. Not bad if you ask me. Not every customer is a YouTuber. It needs time to adapt and create videos, and most customer are too focused on their music production anyway.Taurus wrote:Whats up with Rapid? Only very few videos on YouTube.
Rapids price tag already dropped to 179.99€, which is an acceptable tag, compared with direct competitors. 99$ arguments are ridiculous. No other vendor offers a plugin with comparable sound, content and feature quality for this price. Let's be honest: Your interest is not Rapid or our business strategy. You just don't want too pay this much![]()
But I understand that, not everyone is willing to spend this much for a hobby. Do as you like. Maybe you will change your opinion after a few updates and new features.
Rapid is really nice, but not a high price one.

I wonder how difficult it is to simply not buy a plugin, when you don't want to spend what is asked.
Think tomorrow i will walk into an Apple store, and scream "APPLE YOU ASSHOLES!! YOUR PRODUCTS ARE TOO EXPENSIVE FOR ME!!" and then walk out of the store. My little piece of revolution for the day.

Yeah it's one thing to say "Rats! I wish I had enough money to buy this." It's another, to say, "You know what? This synth is overpriced, and if you don't lower the price, everyone is going to wait for the "free" version to hit the streets."
Wow, I'm totally honored to share this forum with some of the world's greatest thinkers.

SoundBytes Magazine reviews Rapid.
If you are still thinking about acquiring Rapid and have not decided yet, take a look at it.

No more activities from Paraware website concerning RAPID Synthesizer (Windows) since long time, staying at v1.0.2, ignored sustain pedal remains unfixed - trust me it's a pain for a keyboardist like me (same problem for VPS Avenger, but it was quickly fixed), unfinished online manual, no PDF... believe me I'm disappointed...
Also no more activities on Facebook since December 17th and OSX version doesn't concern me (as legit customer I am).
Parawave seems to be more focused on his business around his synth (for proof, OSX version was very urgent) instead of making some fixes for existing version (sustain pedal - requested by many members here, not me only) and completing the user's manual. I'm right, arent?

The review validates both the praise and criticism of the synth. Very good features, but incomplete. Could use a complete manual. Buy at 25 percent less than regular price. Generally well done and worth keeping an eye on.parawave wrote:SoundBytes Magazine reviews Rapid.

Absolutely, totally agree.
Their neglect of the users is very disappointing.

Rapid (and Parawave) is still struggling for viability, so, it is understandable (perhaps not fair the existing, but understandable). That's why I refrained to jump on the wagon immediately. I'll wait until I see a version that fulfills all the promises, and then I'll see if it fits me.
Anyway, when someone decides to buy ANY software, they must base their decision on what IS there in the moment of purchase, not on what MAY be there in the future.

Parawave is a mayfly. You are a fool if you pay so much money for a synth from a brand new small company. I promise that the company does not more exist in one or two years. There are soooo much more good wavetable synths out there.

Right now im making a progressive psytrance track with rapid being the main sound source. Whatever opinion the kvr hivemind may have, i think it is exceptionally good sounding synth.

Every company has to start somewhere. You are clearly a glass-half-empty kind of guy (or girl..i dunno...), considering this post of yours.Taurus wrote:Parawave is a mayfly. You just don't know. It is possible you're right. It is possible you're wrong. And chances are both possibilities are 50%. We'll see. In the meantime, i'll just enjoy the awesome sounds comming from playing with Rapid, if you don't mind
