Just that CPU usage. If it was in Sylenth's range, we'd have here new bread & butter synth standard. Is there some more optimization in planning? Some companies go to assembly-code level programming for this task.

The guys from Reveal Sound have said that the final version (coming in a few weeks) will be CPU optimised. I also contacted them via email and they have confirmed this.FarleyCZ wrote:Just that CPU usage. If it was in Sylenth's range, we'd have here new bread & butter synth standard. Hopefully we'll see a great reduction in CPU usage soon

Oh my god. Can't wait.

We estimate that full optimization process will take several months, and decide to split it into several phases. In upcoming build we could decrease CPU usage up to 20% (depends upon CPU model) and continue to work under performance and some other useful features

I am sure the majority of Spire users appreciate optimization at any level takes time.sound_dev wrote:We estimate that full optimization process will take several months, and decide to split it into several phases. If you manage to squeeze up to 20% I for one are gonna be happy.
Spire seems to find its way into every new project I start.
Its cool to have another unique synth that I can rely upon.

Dear developers & Spire users, could you please explain what the Shaper modes "Flt+dcm" and "dcm" do? And also what the abbreviation DCM means?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Dcm = decimation, ie. sample rate and bit depth reduction.piastro wrote:Dear developers & Spire users, could you please explain what the Shaper modes "Flt+dcm" and "dcm" do? And also what the abbreviation DCM means?

As far as I understand:
Flt+dcm: overdrive disabled, only filter and decimation (bit/sample rate) enabled
Dcm: overdrive and filter disabled, only decimation enabled
AFAIK, those modes exist to remove any potential influence of unused shaper modules (e.g., the other overdrive modes affect the sound even if drive is set to zero) maybe even reduce CPU load a bit.

Good... full optimization promised for 1.0 but now it's going to stretched a ridiculous 20% max decrease during several stepsaquar wrote:sound_dev wrote:We estimate that full optimization process will take several months, and decide to split it into several phases. luv its gutz!
Can you please make the oscillator Wave selector compatible with the Macbook mousepad scroll (i.e. 2 finger scroll) ?
That would be awesome thank you

If you don't like this synthesiser, then don't buy it, but please, just go away. Whatever reason you're trolling for, you have a difference with the developers, you're jealous, you have a small weiner and need to compensate - just go away. We don't want to hear your crap.

The arpeggiator jumps to -24 when you double click on one of the individual note pitch adjustments (don't know a correct term) instead of snapping to 0
the velocity section of the arpeggiator does equally confusing things in my opinion (instead of defaulting back to where it started) when double clicking

I've never used a synth as much as this one in EVERY project.
AND
I can't stop tweaking this super GUI.
Best money on VST in 2013. Period!

There is no way to get CPU at the range of Sylenth. Sylenth would use considerably more cpu if it had the features of Spire.FarleyCZ wrote:Just that CPU usage. it must be true but how Helix accomplished such a low usage? I think it is even lower than Sylenth or just there.pdxindy wrote:There is no way to get CPU at the range of Sylenth. My observation is not to challenge you reply but out of curiosity and a total lack of knowledge in programming synths.
