Thats because when your sharing you are allowing anyone to edit (although you can protect the columns if you wanted and that would fix it), here is https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing is the same spreadsheet but only allows viewing, notice columns E & F are hidden and can only be seen by only persons who have permission to Edit it e.g. currently just me, but anyone who signs in and has been given permission can as well.Luftrum wrote:All bids updated, we have raised $26698 so far. We got 26 hours left. Change of plans: No one needs to enter their KVR username and winning bids into a spreadsheet after auction end.
I notice the FabFilter thing. It's a shame because I have seen similar shared sheets work very well - and very well disciplined - so I thought it would work here too but heck, I am scraping the idea completely... I got another helpful tool at hand.Sim.Sky wrote:@Luftrum I don't want to spoil the party, but if you have a close look at the Google spread sheet you can already see that this method isn't really ideal (look out for the Fabfilter Bundle).
But I think you really want is a form like so https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1fr_4O8 ... art=invite
Notice it adds every submit to the Form responses sheet and does not display the email and realname entries as the are hidden, although you would only need to share form, since only you want the info, problem is wouldn't stop trolls filling it, but then what sort of lowlife would want to usurp a charity
