You know one area that I don't think you've really mined - pop. There's a very old expansion that doesn't fit what I mean - I'm thinking boy bands and stuff beloved of 10-14 year olds, slick chart hits more than dancefloor stuff. Call it Billboard or something. Some acoustic guitars, electronic and acoustic drums, great synths...msvs wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2019 6:16 pmthis can only be said from someone who does not produce these genres. For me Heavy Metal sounds all the same too. But a listener to Metal would tell me its notafter you've heard a handful of expansion packs - they all seem to basically sound the same! And he is probably right.
But I get your point. Actually there are many non-EDM XPs.. Chill, Hollywood, Chiptunes, Dark electronic stuff, analog, lounge/ambient, even German Schlager etc... far more than 10. But its a niche, even if we try to bring out XPs which are non-EDM from time to time, the main demand is clearly modern styled Radio music.
ReFx Nexus 3 (N3) Finally here!

I’d understand people to react like this in a completely random thread...
From the newest 15 expansions released, 12 are specifically for mainstream dance music. That is exactly 80%.
Since you don’t know who KSHMR is (guy produces mainstream dance music) then you are using Nexus for something else, so you fall in the remaining 20% category.
Now, 80% of Nexus users clearly know who KSHMR is, therefore “we all know” makes perfect sense.
OTOH if you do make mainstream dance music and do not know who KSHMR is, then you have to learn your scene mate, not knowing the guy does not make you special or anything, just ignorant.

I'd rather like to know if the KSHMR expansion contains as much illegal sampled stuff as his sample packs do and therefore how many presets will miraculously vanish at some point in time.

Yes please! But not like the Techno expansion for Avenger, which sounds more like Trance and EDM...sureno wrote: Wed Dec 18, 2019 9:06 pm Will there be any XP’s specifically aimed at techno, dark, Berlin type stuff?

Thanks for all the bug fixes and updates. Thank you for the easy cloud feature.
Now will you please have reFX Cloud STOP unpinning itself from my Windows Start and disappearing into a huge long list of folders (I take advantage of my 20 TBs of SDD storage) and forcing me to find and repin it (seems to happen a few times per day).

i tried to buy from someone who has nexus2 and REFX told him once he will update he can not sell.
you have to sell as nexus2, send dongle, and new buyer then can update but it becomes NFR (not for resale for new buyer)
obviosly they will not put this on website, you will find out once you try to sell/buy
this way they make nexus2 not sellable as new buyer can not sell his license anymore, they pushing people to buy nexus3 directly, so they can generate money and you can resell.

Interested in the new nexus 3.
But I didn't know all users are participating in a public beta test after official launch :s
seems they're on version 3.0.14 already > https://refx.com/nexus/version/
Been on nexus2 for almost a decade now & I know it well.
But can you guys help me out on some basic questions
I'd appreciate it as I'm considering the $100 upgrade.
1) Is it still the same workflow? bigger size & better overview but not losing any previous features?
Everything is where it should be, similar to nexus2 layout?
2) Is the nexus3 independent from nexus2, install & library folder? & can they run independently in the DAW?
Like having nexus2 with it's library content, and nexus3 with it's own content, loading independently.
3) is the new library of presets that comes with nexus3, loadable in nexus2 for use?
4) I'm on Win7 x64, minimum stated on website is win8 & win10, so anyone using it on win7?
Or is it really not possible?
5) Your personal opinion on sound quality? Is the sound engine/output better, same or worse?
Is it brighter on the top end, or bit rolled off at the top to make it darker?
Asking this cause, the nexus2 has a slight shade off, having a gentle top.
vengeance-avenger synth is quite bright on the top end at sound output side,
people said its done for it to push through in the mix.
So I wonder if they went with avenger approach or nexus2 approach in regard to the output sound.
Would be nice if anyone can comment on that.
And I guess comparable CPU/ram usage as nexus2? Or has that noticeably increased?
Thanks in advance & Happy holidays guys

1) Pretty much
2) No. Nexus 3 replaces Nexus 2.
3) No, Nexus 3 presets only load in Nexus 3
4) It's usable on Windows 7 SP1.
5) N2 presets should sound exact same in N3.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does ReFx allow license transfers? If so, does it become NFR once transferred?

Bought N3 and my thoughts are:
-Corny? Yes
-Cheesy? Yes
-Inspiring? Yes
-Fun to use? Yes
-Worth the price? Nah..
-KSHMR pack is nice
I bought it mainly for a sideproject where I just want to have a little fun and get stuff done quickly. So far it seems to fit that really nicely, but the price though.. A little bit of buyers remorse because of the price.
