I'm digging up old pictures as I'm documenting my past 25 years of music making. So I just put some pictures and info on a page about my first studio, around 1981-1982.

More info is here.

Those who can do maths and those who can't.

a friend gave me the c64. i barely used it. i'd aready been using the atari 1200. you can see all the floppies on the bottom. i just programmed the atari and then played along with it

another friend gave me the ti. it got no use

the peavey guitar was junk (i was just a kid. i didn't know)

the lower keyboard is a cz 101. on top are a rat shack verb and a mattel drum machine. there's another tape deck on the tv for layering. i made a recording sign for the door so my dad wouldn't ruin a take

crimsonwarlock wrote:That's not a monitor, that's a flatscreen TV. Looks great but as far as I can see it has very low resolution (judging from that VSTi interface that's plastered across the screen ;) )

I do like the overall studio with all the absorbers and such.
Correct, it is a flat screen t.v. and I do run it at a lower resolution because my eyes are not so good but it does have one more level higher which will fit a lot more info but my eyes get strained if I work like that too long.

And to the other guy, yes, notice the PS2 right next to my midi controller. :hihi:

And to guy who said I'm lucky wanker, I saved for a year and a half and bought this shed so I didn't have any restrictions on my hours in which I could work. I can now turn my music to full volume at 3 a.m. in the morning and not wake anyone up in the house. I have finished more music in the last six months than I did for 4 years when I was in the bedroom.

If I was just a LITTLE bit nerdier I could actually wank it to this thread.

I haven't got any pics of my workshop studio, but here's a recent addition to the arsenal still waiting to be finished,

In case you're baffled about it, no, that's not a virus.

That's still looming ahead. This one is a two channel tube preamp swissknife. Some would say it's "hi end modern vintage". I'd say it's a pain in the butt having to wait for the few missing parts.

But next up: vari-mu stereo compressor, or hod rodded stereo 1176. :hyper:

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
