I am happy to hear that the new features work well.
I am thinking, if you don't need the "Play On String" articulations, you can use an unused control message:

Code: Select all

group="ABP2"; articulation="Play on String 4"; ctrl=3; ctrlval=0;
Then you won't need to remove them manually, still they have no effect.

However the phrase is also transposed because there is a "(Transposed)" label next to the name.
The two melody generators differ from other generators in using the master track chords to set up their notes. Other generators don't use them. Since the melody phrases use scale notes* the result may be ruined when transposing the phrase. The melody will be correctly transposed on scale, but it won't match the chords anymore. In these cases as a warning a "(Transposed)" label is shown next to the name.

*you can convert the melody to chord note relative phrase, but the rules may not be true anymore when you make changes to the master track chords
Thank you for the explanation.

In the past, I have seen the "(Transposed)" label appear in my own phrases before, and I was not quite sure what that was about.

RC is quite a sophisticated piece of software; the interactions between different features and options is not always obvious; some features/options may combine in a synergistic way, some may act independently of each other, and some may oppose/override one another. I suppose that some interactions between features/options will vary depending on the current context.

Thank again, works good !

Thank you for creating the Amplesound basses articulations file. What is "Sratch"? Is it a typo for "scratch", or is it perhaps some jazz playing technique I am unfamiliar with?

Thanks for finding a typo, they maybe more ??

Hi Attila
when import a midi song, there is no volume or pan slider in the tracks. I have enable that, Add tracks do this.also a transpose slider available is usefull when need transpose the Bass.
so maybe you and other find it usefull too, if midi import let choose a track template(maybe only one that are use for all tracks). so can make a track template that have transpose variation in, that can transpose, set volume sliders available in tracks that are import

+1! Personally, I really miss a fast OCTAVE transposer on the track!

Post

I can add a preference to automatically add 'Transpose' to tracks with slider in the next beta version.
Indeed, MIDI import does not add the Volume and Pan for the tracks. Sorry about that, this will be fixed.

This is good when you this can add, thanks. To change transpose in Octave steps i notice that mouse wheel do steps +12 - 12 in variation window sliders, and when hold shift key it do steps 1

In Track the sliders (for example volume) can not change with mousewheel. I think this is usefull that it can not change without qualifier key, because mousewheel can use to scroll up or down tracks. and when over a slider then change value. this happen often in reaper for me

Maybe the alt or CTRL key press over a slider in track window can allow to change values with mousewheel. or is there a general GUI Limit so it can not add easy ?

Thanks magicmusic, didn't know that mouse wheel + - 12 thingy :)
and i think i found something (gap?) while sliding with mouse wheel

Forgive me, I did not understand how the transposition in variations changes to an octave?

Post

with the mouse wheel movements

Post

This I understood (+ -1 cent), thank you, but how to change the value immediately to an octave?

Post

1 Octave is 12 steps in all transpose sliders in music software. And when 1 mousewheel step do 12 steps in transpose then you can with 1 mousewheel step transpose 1 octave higher or lower

I know how many steps in the transposition. Thanks.
I once again want to ask: Not one step at a time, but IMMEDIATE + -12 .
Though with a mouse, though otherwise somehow, and somewhere, but immediately + - 12 !
