Sounds really interesting. So do buzz machines need to be bridged to use them in a daw?Iconoklast wrote:As to the other question 'Buzz Machines' are Generators (VSTi) & Effects (VST) that run natively inside of the Tracker DAW Jeskola Buzz. Buzz is noted for having many hundreds to utilize so much that many other trackers have been made to be able to use buzz machines as well like Psycle, Buze & others.
I must note that Buzz has excellent plugin scanning along the lines of Renoise. Wish they were all that way.

It is. It's mostly straight up emulations of 8 and 16-bit machines, including an Arcade emulation in recent releases.Iconoklast wrote:I have heard of Deflemask before...sort of for chiptune stuff isn't it? There are alot of trackers out there. I think the easiest one to learn is SunVox...simply brilliant GUI with a standard sequencer. Also a machine view with modules that light up when triggered. Very cool to watch the light show when building a tune. Downside is NO VST support...only XI or WAV import & the sampler maps XIs kind of crappy. I presently use Aodix & Aero Studio as they are both piano roll as well as tracker & both use VSTs. Buzz is a great one still & the best support & community. All the ones I have just mentioned have the machine or schematic view for connections...Doesn't get any easier to figure connections. Amazingly Renoise doesn't have that...

Mundo cool, especially for enthusiasts. I love writing for the PC-Engine/TurboGrafx.
But if you're looking for more specialzied Famicom/NES stuff, rather than the four channel Ricoh chip found on the basic console, FamiTracker is your best bet.
SunVox is awesome, and I'll admit to having bought the iOS version at some point. It's just not part of my normal workflow, though it has access to some pretty cool synths.
Most DAWs can't use Buzz Machines, Buzz Machines only work in Buzz itself. FL offers support, though the bridge is so old it's kind of buggy to use, IMHO.Pytchblend wrote:Sounds really interesting. Some really good free synths from back in the day got a start with Buzz, IIRC. Oatmeal, for sure.

Well, only certain DAWs can use 'em...Most modern sequencers don't & it is mostly the Trackers that can run 'em. Don't know of any standard DAWs that do. They are straightforward in design mostly very plain GUIs...Think OLD DX plugins. Best to just get BUZZ & a compilation of plugs & play around with 'em. Here is the old site where there are collections-

Current Build here-

Current builds require net frame 4.0...If you don't have net frame 4.0 & don't want to mess then under current version there is a link to older versions you need like Jan of 2010 to be free of NET frame req.

I think I was wrong on Psycle but Buze runs Buzz Machines...It has-
VST Adapter
BUZZ Adapter
PSYCLE Adapter
LADSPA Adapter
VAMP Adapter
MIDI MFX Adapter
MIDI Hardware Adapter
So far I haven't gotten it to get through a VST scan But I am building a 'limited item' plugin folder for wimp scanner DAWs.

I am looking for free small and very basic sampler that can do the following
01. play WAV samples
02. play them in Reverse
03. I want to be able to play them on my midi keyboard so that it wont work like drum machine, I want every note to sound diffrent then the other notes
04. Pitch knob will be great as well
05. it will be great if it will have basic wav editor
thats is, more features will be welcome but not critical
for windows 32, and easy with the cpu
Thank you

Also random request, but I remember there being a sort of freeware Sparkly effect. I had it ages ago, but ended up reformatting the computer with the plugin on it. I also remember it was great at being a preverb. I'd love to have it back, but the searches aren't really helping me, and I can't remember a name. Help?

While there are a lot of sites you can download a patchbank to EVM Synths Axim2, the synth itself is a bogus. I couldnt find any info about it. It isnt on the LIST either. Can anyone share ?
