The Bitwig color scheme kind of makes sense now too.wasi wrote:Jeez man, get your facts straight. I don't know if you have been around this caper long enough to remember the Echo Audio Layla. Layla - a 10inX10out audio interface with ASIO driers - was announced and was way over a year late being released.LawrenceF wrote:They just announced way too early, that's all. If not for that, all of this harmless ribbing and the cats and all that wouldn't even exist.besh wrote:Maybe the bitwig thing is a bit too ambitious. They should have left away Linux support and the 32bit bridge thing and maybe then we were already there.
just my thoughts.
The announced in January of 2012 ... and it's now approaching August 2013, 19 months and counting, so sure... they deserve the harmless ribbing for hyping something so hard (like very hard) and taking so long to sell it after saying "Coming Soon" 18 months ago (and counting).
They should have just waited. In what universe on the net would this kind of ribbing wouldn't exist after 18 months?
On paper, it was one of the first decent PCI card/multi-channel I/O break out box units - but it ended up coming to market when there were plenty of competitors - which were probably in development for a comparable amount of time but weren't announced so far before their drivers were up to scratch.
For it's conspicuous tardiness, it was dubbed the "Delayla" and was the subject of heaps of this sort of ribbing.

I just dropped in to say that Bitwig Studio was released early today.
Sorry forgot to mention I am typing from the year 2020 via Apple's revolutionary iTimeWriter app.
Oh yeah and by the way, Star Wars 7, 8 and 9 suck donkey balls and are worse than the prequels.
End communication.

If linux support is what is keeping the hold up, that just seems like a waste. In fact, I'll just say it's a waste anyways. I mean really? The market for linux is so important?
I'd think they'd concentrate on more important things like, oh.......AUDIO UNITS!
