Breeze wrote:I'm nowhere near my studio and likely won't be for a week or two, but the last time I was trying to quickly flip through B2 presets, it froze on me. Froze as in unresponsive GUI and unable to quit the host, which can lead to lost work.

This was using B2-64 in Nuendo 6.5-64 on W7-64.

Seeing as we're pretty much at the RC, I'd appreciate it if anyone with a similar config could recklessly flip B2 presets and see if the problem can't be reproed. Thanks.
Yep, I have occasional crashes in B2 as well, usually triggered by opening the UI or scrolling through presets quickly.

Also there is an issue where if I leave the track stopped for too long it reverts to this strange sound that is nothing like the preset I programmed... if I save that sound the saved preset is wrong sounding. I have to preemptively save all instances of B2 in a track to presets to avoid losing work.

DAW is Bitwig Studio x64 (OSX and Windows 8.1), I reported the issue to 2CAudio via email today.

I will try using another audio interface to see if I can rule that out for the second issue as I did have some issues with this interface with Kaleidoscope :tu:

I have to say, I really hate and dread the update procedure. Especially for plugins this pricey, I don't understand why the update procedure not only involves a 'dummy purchase' like some third-rate dev, but actually requires you to start a real purchase and then enter a coupon code to make that into a dummy purchase.

No other dev I've bought from has a procedure this convoluted. They either auto-update, send you a link or have a straight log in and download setup.

No offense, just saying.

Would you prefer Ilok, and then we can just post the installers directly on the main page? :o I guess not, right? :scared:

But, we do hope to streamline the update process later this year. Thanks for your patience until then.

We have seen this in internal testing where we make a script to automate preset switching as fast as possible to change through 10,000 preset settings or so. In this test we occasionally find a crash, but we could not trace exactly what caused it and this is WAAAYYY more extreme than any person could do manually. It happened in previous versions too. It is very rare to happen in normal usage. Typically it is found in cases where you open the browser page, and show all presets, and hold down the arrow key for 5-minutes to scan through the presets at "machine gun" rates. Not normal usage.

If you get a crash log ever, or have a step-by-step recipe that consistently leads to a crash, please send to us to see if it tells us anything useful. Thanks.

This one we have never experienced or heard anyone else mention/experience. Does anyone else see this? We will try to see if we can reproduce. Thanks.

I get that sometimes with synths. I'll open them up one day and they sound better than usual! When you really love how something sounds, I guess it seems to get better all the time! :)
Just updated Aether and B2 today and had a similar experience; I popped back in here to see what improvements were made because I swore it sounded even better than before.

And all this time I thought my ears were golden, it was just the wax glowing in the sun. :D

It's just a magical-sounding plug-in. It surprises me all the time too. :tu:

And it can be configured in so many different ways that you are able to use it for literally a lifetime, and not experience everything it is capable of. Many verbs for example have some sort of fixed rules for setting delay lengths. B2, does not exactly, so something like this can subtly result in different experiences even when using very similar parameter settings.

Anyway, happy you guys love it! :tu: I honestly believe it is best sounding verb on the market, and I have tried and studied them all... My only complaint, like many of you, is CPU usage, but to some extent "you get what you pay for" and B2 is a very complex ALG computationally speaking. We are hopeful we can reduce this some more in future updates however...

Verb 2.0 updates will come starting later this year or early next... We have some really cool new stuff planned for B2, Aether, and Breeze as well. Until then existing versions still kick ass IMHO. :D

I have to admit this too.

Superb flexibility and tons of possibility's.

My "Main" reverb.

But I will keep this previous beta because it is simply stunning!

If you used iLok I simply would not own any of your plugins. :D

But I'm talking about the update procedure, not the DRM. Like I said, you're the only company I know that requires a 'dummy purchase' (not saying you're the only one that does it, I just don't know any). Why not just a user area login and a direct download? Or log into the shop and previous customers have a download area with the current version? It's really just the 'dummy purchase with special update discount code' that creates a customer experience the isn't on par with the quality of your products IMO.

Like I said, no offense. Just customer feedback.

No iLok please! If there was iLok I couldn't use my ReaMote server setup I am planning to run many instances of B2 at max interpolation live :help:

No offense taken. We appreciate the feedback. This will be improved in some fashion. It was originally a way to handle things easily without making major infrastructure changes, but its about time to improve it, yes. Been on the wish-list for a while...

Thank you for the updates

....can't wait to create sound sources for an Omnisphere 2 patch bank with the 2cAudio tools. Really the best reverbs (and more....kaleidoscope) today. Not sure how you could make it better.... but i love to be surprised

 You don't want to update from the beta to the final version for fear of the sound changing? A bit paranoid, no? :)

Yes. I designed 5 expansions for 2CAudio and designed hundreds of factory presets on all 2CAudio reverbs, and you saying that I don't hear the difference between two examples?

Paranoid? :hihi:

I posted audio examples 24bit in the first hour of official release on GS.

Hi,

Is there any need to update the presets for Aether/B2/Breeze - included in the newest Perfect Storm installers?

Thanks.

Hi
With the final release old sound is back, so there is no need to update expansions.
