You should be able to demo it. The LPG worked fine on both my win7 systems. I'm not sure when the win 7 support stopped though.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

The announcement/revelation/kick-in-the-nuts was definitely after I got the LPG.

Modular versions of TSAR-1 and TSAR-1R have also been released, included with the Vst versions

Hey guys,
as I have not found any info on this: How does the softube modular integrate with real hardware eurorack? Can you for expample control a hardware VCO with the sequencers and lfo`s? and if so, how is the calibration done? if this can be done it would be the perfect solution for integrating your eurorack in your DAW.
Any suggestions or tutorials are welcome!!!
cheers!

I was never sufficiently impressed with the SMR to buy one... it seems like everything I've ever heard from it was just kind of this annoying whistling. But at this price, I'll give the virtual version a spin.

It does a couple of tricks... I use it for all sorts of ping-sounds, but I haven't bothered editing my own scales.

I find the filters a tad too simple. So I was considering to extend the firmware for a better zero delay feedback filter model with better bandwidth control, but d'oh... when? Well, one day...

Would be cool to see if one can load the firmware into the Softube version - which should be possible, since "It faithfully emulates both the hardware and firmware of the original unit". I wonder how they managed to keep CPU footprint low when they actually emulate the STM processor... [EDIT: Ah, well, form the MSR manual: "Hold the ROTATE button down while powering the SMR on. Keep holding it down, and release the button when you see just a single light on, slowly changing color. The SMR is ready to receive firmware." - I guess that's gonna be difficult to figure out then...]

According to support Win 7 is now officially re-supported since yesterday.

Did they create a proper patch browser yet?

All kidding aside, no. And don't hold your breath for it either.

What's the point of adding iems to a platform that's still half baked, then? I thought their priority was to sort out the issues pointed out by users. To me, a proper way to store and load patches independently of platform is number one :dog:

You're preaching to the choir brother. The patch library support headaches got so bad that I had to put big red letters up on the page "Don't get this unless you are sure you can load these" and then had to put up a test file to download so that they could make sure.

And there are still DAWs that can't load 3rd party libraries.

They have the excuse of authenticity......no presets on the real thing

Is anyone else having problems with the new SMR module? The VSTi version is very laggy, I can't really work with it, while the FX one is ok... I' m on Win7 64-bit with Reaper 5.

Post

Same configuration for me (Win 7 64bit, Reaper 5.4), but no problem at all working with it.
