There lies the problem, you seem to know what a better use of time would be for bulent ....more than bulent.Aliens wrote:I don't care what's in this topic or what's talked about or who posts it. I asked a question about the best use of Bulent's time - Synth or amateur skins.
Clearly I have a sound preference on which he should concentrate on.
Like I wrote above, I must endeavour to remember that others might not just buy a synth to program and use making music.
Synthmaster One?

Not to mention this is a bug that stops the plugin from functioning and crashes the host, it is kind of important to talk about it actually. Thanks guys for talking sense to that dude. Anyone skinning on their own or grabbing a skin from someone else may run into this issue, and I also had a crash just using bundled skins and trying to save one as a preset's skin.
And BTW I LOVE Synthmaster One, it is my go-to synth now, best $15 bucks I have spent on a plugin. That's why I bothered to try and make a skin in the first place, and only shared the file after someone said 'can you share that here?'
BTW, to be clear Bulent, the bug as I see is it is 'no error handling when skin can't load' SMO obviously shouldn't be forced to load a bad skin, but it shouldn't crash when attempting to do so. I would expect an error message and to be returned to the last loaded skin, or the default.

"Clearly I have a sound preference on which he should concentrate on." now you're making this thread about you. really, let bulent decide what to work on (or not). and if he wants to take a break and, say, marathon 'stranger things', or eat a 6-hour dinner, that's his business.Aliens wrote:I don't care what's in this topic or what's talked about or who posts it. we use our synths to make music, no one (probably) buys a plugin just to stare at it; that's common sense. but again, no harm in customizing that experience. many of my plugins allow that, so it must be important (even if it's not important to you).
play nice!

Your assumption isn't applicable to me. I merely asked a question. The projections coming from the responses, in what is really a yes or no answer, are nothing to do with me.Pyrotek45 wrote:

BTW, I love that Stranger Things patch he included, that was great I suspect he's already binged on that.

So you're really trying to pass off the question " whats the best use of Bulent's time - Synth or amateur skins" as a yes or no question? Ok buddy, now you're on a new level of stupid. It's clear that when you say "amateur", you're using it as a negative connotation as if to say it's not worth his time, as if you know whats best for him. So yes, my assumption fits you perfectly.Aliens wrote:Your assumption isn't applicable to me. I merely asked a question. So anyway, trying to change the subject...
I was lamenting that there were fewer waveforms in SMO than Synthmaster, then I realized I could copy the SM user waveforms to the SMO user waveforms folder
I guess that is a perk of owning both.

I didn't set out to hurt your feelings by questioning whether the dev should focus on getting his update out rather than on making amateur skins work, but if it helps calm you down, stops you imparting hidden meaning and getting hung up on correctly used words like amateur, and prevents you getting angry and throwing insults around, I do apologise.Pyrotek45 wrote:

No time to read through all of this sizeable thread, but I bought this synth today and it's excellent, a no brainer with 50% off.
I have a request for a small tweak. Can custom waveforms be scanned through nested folders so I can organise a bit better? I have the Architectural Waveforms pack which has upward of about 100 folders full of waveforms and I would like to have that organised within a master folder cos it's getting ugly already
That's all I've loaded in so far but I can see it's going to be tricky keeping track of everything when it comes to adding more.
Still, great to be able to use these waveforms at long last

As far as I remember we already support nested folder. I guess the nest level was up to 2. Will double check.arrowhead samples wrote: I have a request for a small tweak. I just double checked myself and by putting all the folders within a master folder it doesn't read them.

Try selecting those multiple folders and drag them on to the waveform display.arrowhead samples wrote:I just double checked myself and by putting all the folders within a master folder it doesn't read them.

Hmm..no that's not permitting that.kv331 wrote:Try selecting those multiple folders and drag them on to the waveform display.arrowhead samples wrote:I just double checked myself and by putting all the folders within a master folder it doesn't read them.
I think the problem is that within a folder SynthOne is expecting to read a waveform. I want to have a master folder to organise this mass of folders within which actually contain the waveforms.
So...Waveforms > Architectural Waveforms > Classic Saw (folder with wav samples) ...etc..
Currently this results in no waveforms showing up
Waveforms > Classic Saw (folder with wav samples)
This works just fine but will become an organisational nightmare once I start adding more.
