Weird, seems like it should be pretty easy to see if it's working right, plug an LFO into the triggerWatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Jun 09, 2022 5:12 pm The little 2hp Arp I got from eBay finally arrived, lights work fine based on chord mode etc, but it’s not arping. Just acts like a constant tone v/oct generator based on whatever the root note control is set to and ignores triggers and also anything passed into the root note input. Before I send it back for a refund has anyone ever seen this and fixed it?
and send the output to a 1v/oct VCO. If doesn't arp then it's probably borked.
Yeah i can't recall anyone using these, maybe Toonertikvurt wrote: Thu Jun 09, 2022 5:18 pm probably best asking on mod wiggler forum, don't know if anyone else has the 2hp arp here, doesn't ring a bell?
pekbro will know for sure if anyone has though...

No worries, lfo etc is what I tried, I’m afraid it’s toast. I’ll have to send it back for a refund.

Oooo... that IS sooo yummy! Wow. Good thing I don't do or have any peddles, or 500 series things. Hearing how this dials-in specific tones and textures is wowsome.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Jun 09, 2022 7:14 pm Talking of slippery slopes, having banged on about my line in the sand is no hardware effects units, every effect on the DAW, I just ordered one of these
It sounds lush and is uber tweakable via MIDI cc and I ran out of reasons not to buy one. Still love my software plugin effects though, at the moment I’m particularly grooving on Audio Damage’s Other Desert Cities and Noise Engineering’s Desmodus.
Oh, and thanks for reminding me about 'Desert Cities'.

That would be my guess. I've had a screen-grab of it in my "Get THESE" folder for quite awhile, and think about at least once a month, to add a little touch of arpy embellishment here and there, to things I'm 'playing' in my head, but then I get distracted.

This came in the mail today:

Wouldn't have gotten such an extravagant one if it weren't for the fact that the one I bought last year was such a game changer and that this one can theoretically control two synthesizers.
Also, seems well made. I wonder how long the other will last.

So now I have two expression pedals and feel like I should have gotten one a long time ago.
It will add to the fun I have been having recently on these -

That Rocktron pedal looks sweet. I didn’t know you could use that as an expression pedal. Zoom made (makes?) a multi-effect pedal with an expression pedal that rocked back and forth and also in a circular motion. It’s almost weird when companies develop cool things like that and then don’t turn them into standalone products.

My sadness that the 2hp arp module I bought on eBay didn’t work went away as soon as I asked for a refund, lovely bloke just gave me the refund no questions asked and said he didn’t want the unit back as it would have been hassle. Was especially grateful as I don’t have a printer anymore and I was dreading the thought of having to go back into my covid strewn office in town just to print off a return label.
The Mercury 7 is great. I wasn’t too impressed at first until I realised I was outputting just the left channel in an fx return which my DAW was running in as dual mono. It really shines in stereo and there’s more control hiding than you’d think as a lot of the knobs have alt modes where you can set mod depth etc.

It jumps. Got it hooked up to the Korg right now and the little screen shows 11% all the way down where it was at 0%. I was worried about the fancy magnetic sensor idea, but I have worked at a company that used them so I thought it would be OK. Design-wise it is great, flatter to the ground so your foot is closer to where it would normally be.
Will use some more to find out if the jumpiness makes this thing unusable.

Hmm, mine doesn't. You sure you have it in the right mode for your synths?Constructed Identity wrote: Tue Jun 14, 2022 10:00 pmIt jumps. That's the only thing I can think of, I'm using a high quality power supply as well.
Maybe give them a holler about that.

I had to go and get a power supply so I got the more expensive "1 SPOT" with its SUPER long cord.pekbro wrote: Tue Jun 14, 2022 10:50 pmHmm, mine doesn't. Wish my Odyssey had that cord... anyway I switched it over to the pro3 and it seems to work but be hardwired to cutoff by default. Shows 'foot' & 'Expression' in the mod matrix. One must be the foot switch and the other the expression pedal but it just says 'pedal' in the back

Don’t shy away from short decays. It’s a lovely pedal. I still might sell mine off but it’s a great pedal.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Jun 14, 2022 8:01 pm My sadness that the 2hp arp module I bought on eBay didn’t work went away as soon as I asked for a refund, lovely bloke just gave me the refund no questions asked and said he didn’t want the unit back as it would have been hassle. So now I can see it's uniqueness. It's a footswitch (portamento) for the Odyssey AND an expression pedal for the pro3.
Sucks the Odyssey has no midi implementation on any of its sliders, I guess that's the same as the 2600. If Korgs' 2600M has midi to its sliders that might justify the higher price.
