Maybe if Urs renames it RePro-1-Note-At-A-Time the poly folks will just give up and look elsewhere.

You are gonna love RePro 1!!Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:
Honestly...Monark has been my most used synth since it's release, with Diva #2, and the single note restriction hasn't bothered me one bit. If I want a poly, I load Diva. If I want a bass or lead synth, I start with Monark.
It sounds so good. I mean, really freakin gorgeous. Nearly every tweak leads to interesting new tones and it is like one big sweet spot. The sound quality is actually shocking it's so good, and it oozes pleasing character... very musical.

The sound is great. The demo has been a bit on the CPU heavy side but I know Urs and the boys will optimize it further Before release. But having said that I wonder how it would be to lay down like 7 note chords with a polyphonic version. The CPU will most likely beg for mercy. I love the fact that it will be mono and a more true emulation. I will for sure buy it.
Win 10 -64bit, CPU i7-7700K, 32Gb, Focusrite 2i2, FL-studio 20, Studio One 4, Reason 10

I already love what I've been hearing with the Alpha, I can't wait to hear the final product. I'd pay U-he for it f right now if I could. I'd pay $10 over the intro price right now just to get a beta a few weeks early.pdxindy wrote:You are gonna love RePro 1!!Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:

Yep, that idea came up. I'm a bit afraid that this kind of thing could come across like pressuring people to buy Repro. I mean, it would have to be in the UI, so it would always be visible to people who have Diva without it.sacer wrote:Maybe Diva could check a valid serial for rePro to unlock OSC and filter from Prophet as a synth module expansions
We'll see. There are loads of possibilities and we're currently focussed on getting Repro-1 out...

Well hearing examples of it also pressures people into buying it (me included), so where's the harm?

I want to avoid having people buy Repro-1 first, only for them to realize that they could have gotten it in Diva a few months later.masterhiggins wrote:Well hearing examples of it also pressures people into buying it (me included), so where's the harm?
That said, putting it into Diva wouldn't be the same. There would be a lot of overlap on bread'n'butter sounds, but not so much in many others.

And a little later he launched the Poly EvolverDasheesh wrote: I think you should ask Dave. He handled it very well when releasing the mono evolver. I believe his words were "you can do a lot with a mono, and mono's are fun!"

DIVA is a poly synth. Would the eventually added RePro modules act as poly or mono?Urs wrote: I want to avoid having people buy Repro-1 first, only for them to realize that they could have gotten it in Diva a few months later.

I'm sure it would be poly, as Diva is not trying to be a 100% exact emu of any item - it's more like "bring the OSC flavour of this, and the filter flavour of this" together. In the case of Diva, it would be bringing in the Pro One oscillators, or the Pro One filters etc.fmr wrote:DIVA is a poly synth. Would the eventually added RePro modules act as poly or mono?

I think if you select the modules from Korg, Moog, Roland and Ubik there could be a SCI module only be visible to select, if repro is activated and if you select a preset containing a repro module, it jumps as long to next preset until it doesn't contain a prophet module.
Maybe next expansion could be the roldand 101

Yes, that's what I think too. But I would like to see the already mentioned modules from the Synthex too. Personally, I think those would make more sense (and would add more value to DIVA) than the Pro-One oscillators and filter.beely wrote:I'm sure it would be poly, as Diva is not trying to be a 100% exact emu of any item - it's more like "bring the OSC flavour of this, and the filter flavour of this" together. If it's only one module (e.g. a filter), and is hidden from the module drop-down menu by default, it may not put too much pressure... Maybe the module could also be bought independently, for a smaller price.Urs wrote:Yep, that idea came up. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Diva and Zebra evolve into platforms with paid extensions. Diva could be the "palette of colorful tones from the past" platform, and Zebra the "anything's possible" one. For example, I would buy a phase distortion oscillator module (for both synths!). I have no idea if this is marketable or not, though... And this could blur a little the identity of the synths...
(I know Zebra can already do PD with osc fx, but I'd love to see something more immediately accessible)

It is nice for people sharing presets that any Diva or Zebra preset can be shared with any user of that synth... with a bunch of paid modules, you would never know what preset might work.
