Well, then it might have something to do with my audio driver, maybe?!

I see Softube added 3 more modules to Modular; 4ms Spectral Multiband Resonater, and updates to TSAR-1 and TSAR-1R thet have them show up in Modular the way Heartbeat does. The reverbs only have two parameters that can be controlled by CV, but there should be a lot of ineresting possibilities with either of them within a Modular patch. I might pick up the cheaper 'verb, but the 4ms SMR is probably a must-buy.

I have plenty of reverbs, and at the prices they want for the module versions, I can easily live without these. And yeah, the modulation options are rather limited.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Yep, SMR is definitely a must buy. I've not yet played with it, but I picked it up. It's a killer Euro module, and 4ms is a killer company. This is exactly the kind of stuff I was hoping they'd bring out.DocAtlas wrote:I see Softube added 3 more modules to Modular; 4ms Spectral Multiband Resonater, and updates to TSAR-1 and TSAR-1R thet have them show up in Modular the way Heartbeat does. The resonator, IMO, is probably the best module of the system released so far. It's definitely up there with the Korgasmatron.

So can it do stuff like this yet?
(I guess it has the resonator now but not the maths modules still)

Just a heads up to everyone the softube version of 4ms SMR only models the v4 firmware features, with the exception of the 1v/oct switch. I brought it and was disappointed it didn't have the new two pass filter and extra scales at the very least.

I dunno, but the new module should be fun to play with.aMUSEd wrote:So can it do stuff like this yet?

I liked the video, by the way.

She's got mostly MakeNoise modules in there, so no.aMUSEd wrote:So can it do stuff like this yet?

Plus, most people, even with the same rig, couldn't make patches as well as her.

No noticeable lag on my rig (aside from the already slightly laggy normal operation of "modular". I'm enjoying the new modules immensely. I'm especially loving audio- rate modulation on the dry wet control of tsar. The resonator is fun as well. It adds some needed oddness to this whole setup.be wrote:Is anyone else having problems with the new SMR module? The VSTi version is very laggy, I can't really work with it, while the FX one is ok... I' m on Win7 64-bit with Reaper 5.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

I don't see why that wouldn't be possible with the current selection of modules. Lots of good intricate clocking work there but not much in the way of hard to achieve sounds IMO.aMUSEd wrote:So can it do stuff like this yet?

I got the tip from Softube support to try the vst3 version (I never saw a need to use vst3's before) and that actually solved the problem for me. The downside is that now I can't use my selfmade (vst2) patches to add the smr to them, but that's not as big a problem as not being able to use the great new module in a practical way...

So it's not even compatible with its own patches saved in another plugin format? What were they thinking?be wrote:I got the tip from Softube support to try the vst3 version (I never saw a need to use vst3's before) and that actually solved the problem for me. Well, I had the idea but haven't yet tried to save my vst2 patches as a bank in Reaper and import them into the vst3, so I don't know whether it's really that bad. But at least they didn't show up in the patch list of the vst3 after installing it, which was to be expected, I guess, since it's an other vst...

Now I tried it, and in fact it does not work... The exported vst2-Reaper preset library can be imported into the vst3, but when loading those patches: nothing happens.
I don´t know whether it´s Softube´s or Reaper´s fault, but that´s how it is...
