Peter, have you ever considered your avatar to be a subliminal of negativity?
It kind of impies that you either consider the company you work for to be akin to handling toxic waste OR that you believe the customer base to be so (or maybe both). Anyway you look at it, it seems to start everything off on a particular path.

I think the image comes from the typical IKM concept of "armor" (they originally called their products in a way that recalled dinosaurs, tanks, aero fighters, tubes etc.). Nothing else.

@ Peter, given the fact that everyone of these threads quickly turns down the path of scrutiny and controversy, I was just offering an observation of something that can add to it before it begins. I have done studies and research in subliminal messaging (including the studies that there's no such thing).
Toxic waste repels.
Sex sells. (But please don't replace it with a nude selfie).

I always assumed it was a tongue in cheek nod to having to don a flameproof suit round here, but I guess not.

That would be sarcastic and condescending.gamecat666 wrote:I always assumed it was a tongue in cheek nod to having to don a flameproof suit round here, but I guess not.
(If he has to wear a suit, then that means who is the toxic waste)?

Hmmmm....
Wouldn't that put him in jeopardy of being audited for pimping and not reporting the income?

mhog....do you recall seeing the image at the IK website?mhog wrote:I think the image comes from the typical IKM concept of "armor" (they originally called their products in a way that recalled dinosaurs, tanks, aero fighters, tubes etc.). Nothing else.
I could swear it was on the front page at one time in the manner you mention. Lower left corner of the page.
Perhaps they were posting comments (with avatars) and I just didn't pay close enough attention.
But I recall seeing it (someplace other than KVR) and thinking - "strange - what's that supposed to mean?"
Oh well, no biggie.

Yes, I remember, it was about 2006-2007. It was long before the "ipad toys" policy. On their forum (only for registered owners) there was a thread called "upcoming ST3" or smth. and people posting suggested features. The images of their products had always to do with armors and/or weapons (the hidden message: "solidity" or whatever, I guess?): so, there was a tank for Sampletank, a fighter for Stealthplug, a dinosaur for T-Racks, etc. I think the image means: "feel protected, we have armors and we know what to do" or smth? Very "industrial"/"technologic" (modern times) and "scary" (like tanks, stealth, disonaurs etc.) at the same time. I guess this is the "subliminal" message (so to speak).dsan@mail.com wrote:mhog....do you recall seeing the image at the IK website?mhog wrote:I think the image comes from the typical IKM concept of "armor" (they originally called their products in a way that recalled dinosaurs, tanks, aero fighters, tubes etc.).
