I guess it's possible there will be an Iris 3 upgrade on the back of this. But it's probably more about an upgrade path to their creative bundle.EnGee wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 10:25 am Well, I feel sorry for such great effort ending like this! Anyway, maybe they want us to buy their other products, which sure I'm thinking of.![]()

Do you CONSUME plugins or INVEST in plugins?EnGee wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 10:35 am Maybe! I hope all works well for them and us (the consumers) as well![]()

Invest? How? I'm not a Pro.

Don‘t take it too seriously.
An economist HAS TO ask this question...

I'm looking at getting Iris 2.
newb question - I am wondering if the synth can take an audio source sidechained into it from another track, or do I have to manually import WAV samples into it?
I am looking to create new Multisamples.
Also, when Iris 2 imports samples, do they have to be multisamples, or does Iris2 stretch them to get them to sound OK up the keyboard range?

You drag samples into it: they have to be imported or else there's no way to draw the filters onto them. If it's live envelope filtering you want, something like Kuvert might be more up your street, though it doesn't let you punch holes in the spectrum.
They are single samples that get stretched. You can have up to four sample layers.

Seriously it's free with any purchase from Plugin Boutique, you'll be able to get it for $4... not much to think about, just grab it.MasterTuner wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 11:33 am I'm looking at getting Iris 2.

I see. So if I load a sample, that's not on middle C, I have to find out manually what's the correct root pitch, may by using spectrum analyzer? Or what would be the best practice (random sample, pitch unknown)?Gamma-UT wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 7:31 amYou set the root pitch in the sample-control box, with the controls on sample replay (normal, Radius or fixed pitch). Like most samplers, it defaults to middle C.Izak Synthiemental wrote: Sun Aug 04, 2019 10:31 pm When you import your own sample to Iris 2, will it automatically be mapped to the keyboard in correct pitch or how does it work?
Also, does any of the sample replay modes allow playback of the sample in different pitches without affecting the length and timbre of the sample? Or does it work the oldschool sampler way, where pitching results in faster / slower playback of the sample?

Iris is much more than a standard sampler and less at the same time... To find out the pitch of a sample use your ears. Iris is not about playing back a sample, its about opening a universe of sound based on a sample... Grab it, and have fun exploring that universe... Listen to the examples patchpool has made, should give you an idea...

The joke went obviously over your head. I bet you're also one of those people who can't figure out how to install Waves plugins.BONES wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 12:25 amI'm sure that is much easier than addressing the point I made when you have nothing to offer in defence of your own (worthless) opinion.

That's Radius mode. Radius is their timestretching software.Izak Synthiemental wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2019 12:34 pmAlso, does any of the sample replay modes allow playback of the sample in different pitches without affecting the length and timbre of the sample?

I know you can create sample loop points in Iris 2 and xfading, but can you save the WAV file out with those loop points embedded in them so you can import the WAV into other applications ?
