I've been considering getting specialised drum modules for my rack, but they all seem pretty expensive for what they do and I have a Rytm that I'm really used to that offers everything I want from standard drums - kicks, snares, hats etc. - and has the major benefit of already talking to my DAW so I don't have to use up precious audio outputs from the modular to the DAW to keep the drums on discrete tracks. But, I want to be able to do stuff in modular as much as possible without having to break workflow to deal with stuff outside like changing drum patterns or muting drums etc. Think I've tracked down a widget that may help...

...should let me use the new sequencer I'm getting, Euclidean Circles, Pams or other things in the rack to generate beats, but converts them to triggers which it fires out as MIDI notes which I should be able to map easily to the Rytm. On paper it should work.

Been looking for a Quadraverb for my 19” rack for ages, but waiting for a sensibly priced one to drop.
Finally spotted one at cash converters with a power lead for £80. Now, I got to go looking for a Shadows ROM.

Got my Roland E-4 today. It's very cool. The scatter effect takes it into instant FSU territory. Mumbled a bit into it at first with my old Nokia phone headset to see if that worked (it did). Then ran some radio through it and then some guitar.
This is just some very random guitar noodling through my Orange Terror Stamp pedal into the E-4.

Nymphes arrived today. Sounds amazing considering its size and that it's just 1 VCO/voice. Very solid build, quite heavy and chunky but the fader caps feel a bit cheap.
I don't think the menu system is going to be an issue, I was up and running within minutes after updating the Firmware.

Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Oooo... I hadn't seen this yet. Now that's cool!WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Jun 21, 2022 9:34 am I've been considering getting specialised drum modules for my rack, but they all seem pretty expensive for what they do and I have a Rytm that I'm really used to that offers everything I want from standard drums - kicks, snares, hats etc. - and has the major benefit of already talking to my DAW so I don't have to use up precious audio outputs from the modular to the DAW to keep the drums on discrete tracks. Heads up for anyone who’s interested and can get stuff picked up from the Yorkshire area.
Bit of a bargain going currently in the Huddersfield Cash Converters, a Dave Smith Mopho X4, the four voice version, they’re asking £450, but it’s pickup only.

Was looking at the Nymphes. What a cool little box ... interesting that you have it sitting next to a Behringer Deepmind .. I have a DM12 and was therefore hesitating to pull the trigger on the Nymphes as the two sort of are overlapping in that I'd use the Nymphes as a pad machine just like the DM12.AdvancedFollower wrote: Tue Jun 21, 2022 4:18 pm Nymphes arrived today. Returned the Lehle, ordered a Boss EV-30. Spent the last week editing patches on the pro 3 to add expression (CC 11) to inputs on its mod matrix.

Anyone here had or still got a Michigan Sound Works XVI?
There’s mention of MIDI and USB out but I can only see how their connections work on the desktop unit, no outputs on the top of the unit so how go they work on the eurorack install?

There's definitely some overlap, but not really more than with any other two subtractive analog synths IMO. They look similar because of the faders and graphics but there are some differences, like DCO vs VCO, different waveforms, different filters etc. Nymphes is almost more Jupiter-4 than Juno.neo77 wrote: Wed Jun 22, 2022 12:48 pmWas looking at the Nymphes. I was considering Microfreak instead but I'm just a sucker for analog synths, especially polyphonic ones.

Utility modules day. Quite like look of Tesseract modules, they're cheap but powerful. Picked up a couple from Juno.
This dual logic module does much the same as the Doepfer equivalent for about half the price

and this module gives you 6 function generators in 18hp for £100, plenty handy for percussion, filter envelopes or just general slew.

To round off grabbing utilities I got another of these Rides in the Storm attenuators

and a narrow passive quad mult

I'm hoping there's one more module coming soon, but it's an auction so I'm crossing my fingers I get it.
