i apologize arke; however, you were a jackass. i think you should apologize back.
i apologize KVR people for being annoyed about me & arke's argument
Now lets get back to discussing ACID 6... Anyone else have questions they want answered about v5 in v6??

Just think...this thread would not even be necessary if everyone just stuck with AcidPro 3...the most stable, trim, low fat version ever.

Saw the demo at NAMM. I was moderately impressed, but then I have Acid Pro 5, and hardly ever use it. I got tired of the whole cut-n-paste looping approach - but that's just me.
On the other hand, the Samplitude demo was awesome.
At NAMM all the software folks take up nearly a whole room. Plug-in nurvana!

Don't ask me, I just play here.

G-RO are thewy going to update the DR-008/or are they going to make a new drum machine?also with the DR-008 can you make separtate patterns and save them as loops and put them in the arrangemant and move them around.something like PRO5?

It seems to me they took the Vegas engine to make the multitrack recording/editing part in the new Acid and this alone is a quality point, Vegas is extremely quick and effective to use when multitracking. The midi part is the most interesting to see how it's turned out in this new incarnation, and the rewire troubles too. Acid could become an excellent rendering and post arranging solution, apart from a do-all host too.

Pretty good, huh?Reverend Rhythm wrote:"...and the bonus inclusion of a version of Native Instruments Kompakt sampler with an exclusive 2GB sound library."![]()

You can figure where this sampler idea comes from... a Kompakt player 'free' sounds like a bargain. I'm still trying to figure out why I'd spend $99 on Directwave to go with FL6, though that doesn't mean I won't at some stage. And the 2GB of freebies sounds mighty like FL's deal with Samplefusion, no?
Roll on competition, I say...I love it when marketing geeks discover price wars and bonus content...

(PS: before the usual abuse from FL people, I like FL. And I especially like the free upgrades (even if there are oh-so-many of them

Can you tell us a bit more about the midi functionality? Is it a whole lot better than Acid 5?siriusbliss wrote:Saw the demo at NAMM. I was moderately impressed, but then I have Acid Pro 5, and hardly ever use it. I got tired of the whole cut-n-paste looping approach - but that's just me.

Also, after reading most of the last 10 pages, I'm surprised no one has brought up the issue of CPU efficiency. The marketing materials say that Acid 6 is more efficient than previous versions. I'm wondering if anyone can comment on if Acid 6 will start to choke when your CPU gets past 70-80%. Yes, I'm a Live user, can you tell?

The problem for me was if ACID crashed, then it gave a continuous buzzing noise that didn't stop unless I restarted my computer, then I got a blue screen of death. Then, i would get audio in my right ear, until i restarted again, in which case I would get a good restart, except my comp. would go a bit slower than beforenebulae wrote:Can you tell us a bit more about the midi functionality? I never found that ACID 5 used THAT much CPU... if it did spike, it would immediately crash for me.
