No!! You are going to get almost exactly what you want too. The 4-Track lost the looping features and got lower CPU, track EQ and a delay send. Will that make you happy?spacedad wrote:does this mean the end to my tascam portastudio-style 4track dream?
i suppose i can still use an early version,if i can find the ones that were the best.a nice simple 4track,no frills(exept maybe sync).
hey,but me no complain!

I think you can just include it, if it's free. I'll have to ask though.audiojunkie wrote:That sounds like a really good one. It can save the whole song, can't it? Maybe you can get permission to package it with your program, so that it will be a complete solution.tomg wrote:I was thinking Savihost. Thank you!PTV wrote:Try this one: SAVIHosttomg wrote:Yes... but which one?audiojunkie wrote:Now you need to find a mini vsti host to add to the package to complete it.

Can we have pre and post sends on the delay?
a cue mix function?

Any bets on how long this thread is going to get?
Although this does get better with age, imagine what it is going to be like on page 20

how's it going tomg?
i finally got time to try things out,but i could only manage to record and play back one track.
maybe i just can't remember how to use portastudios.i tried the 8-track v.09,the 4-track II,arly 4track beta + early 8track beta.read the manual, but can't seem to get things playing back.i think i had to reload the wavs to the individual tracks again so as to play back.is that what i'm supposed to do?i checked in audacity and track 1+2 had stuff recorded on them but i couldn't get them to play, only track1.i must be doing something wrong,i know.i'll have another go tommorrow.
i was using eXT's main page in the standalone.
looking at it in the modular view, though i think it needs to have 4/8 audio ins and 2 or more audio outs to make more sense.
any possiblity of adding tape hiss and muffle, too?
have you seen wahnsyn's MT-2? the manual's in german only, but the gui's nice.just wondered what you thought of it.

It's good, thanks. I have seen this problem. It records the track fine but only plays back a second before it stops.spacedad wrote:how's it going tomg?

There is a work around. If it stops early just leave it in play mode, pop over to the setup page and select another wave file for that track. As soon as it begins to play reload the original file and then it's fine. I'm not sure what causes this. It's not a show stopper but I wish it didn't do that.
I've got plans to glitch out the 4-Track. Finish the 4-TrackII cue system and add enough instruments to produce a tune without leaving the studio. Some other stuff too but not for a while. I need to actually get my site back online at some point.
