anybody on this beta ether knows there shit or can blag real well
& all the beta feed back has been A1

no, afraid I don't. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not active in the testingmatto wrote:

any longer; I don't want to drag my keyboard controller home every week so I've not bothered
downloading the new beta's and the old ones I have are expired.
It will be an ear opening experience once everyone gets a chance to demo it..hopefully that will be soon.
Still, let them take their time and do it right.

Subz, I don't blame them for limiting it to weighted keyboards. While I do know one very good jazz pianist who can play an unweighted keyboard and nobody can tell, he's a rare bird. Weighted keyboards has to be the marketing and development focus for a piano.

I wouldn't say that it couldn't beat multi-gig sample libraries. Samples are good, but an instrument that has the expressiveness of this new upcoming instrument and uses little disk space is phenomenal and will be well worth their asking price. I'll certainly put it on my to-buy list, that's for sure. If it uses a combo of sampling and modelling then it's worth it. I've never been fond of sample libraries that take up huge amounts of disk space, so any instruments that can do either the same (or more) with less disk space (and RAM of course) are a much better choice in the long term.

Its been a while since I last posted on this thread, but alot of you wanted a taste of the piano without such a wash of reverb. So here is another improvisation, played with what I feel is a more 'immersive' Piano Bank (which is still in beta phase) and minimal reverb.
Hope it gives you a better idea of the instrument itself.

Nice. Have you got anything close to a timeline for release?reflekshun wrote:Its been a while since I last posted on this thread, but alot of you wanted a taste of the piano without such a wash of reverb. It certainly does! This isn't the sound of an acoustic piano AT ALL.reflekshun wrote: Hope it gives you a better idea of the instrument itself.
Even the limited free trial version of Acustix Bösendorfer Piano ( http://acustix.vanbarel.com/use.html#A - for HALION ) is a real wonder of natural sound in comparison. Just listen that one & compare:
http://acustix.vanbarel.com/audio/Rachm ... No%206.mp3
http://acustix.vanbarel.com/audio/Rachm ... No%208.mp3
And man, even my old Roland U20's piano is still sounding a lot better! What is the MATTER with all these people pretending we have quality here? I really don't get it at all, and I MEAN that
Acustix also has a free trial version of their Steinway. I prefer the Bösendorfer, but listen to that Steinway as well & compare again:

It's a Better Demo of the thing right? Compared to all the other demos in this thread.
The Piano Playing is good right?
It is a 'Beta' (in a volatile state, not ready)- so allowances have to be made (personally I would not allow the beta team to post anything till its ready or at least run past the developer first - It would be a very good idea imo)
PS
I am not on the beta team - so can't give any other opinions (not that you should if on a beta team till its released anyway) - I gave up piano years ago, when the compulsion to kill the tutor became too great

Well, I think you'd fool a lot of people with it. No, not folks with a highly developed sensitivity to the differences between real and synthesized, or to classically trained pianists and conductors.alex zonder wrote:It certainly does! IMHO, this piano sounds far better than any free sampled piano I've tried (not including the acustix demos, which I will try when I get the chance). I prefer it to Yamaha P80 and Roland RD-700. (I omit the latest models simply because I don't have enough experience with them to comment.) I'd be surprised to find that the RD-700 piano is inferior to the U20, but it's possible.

You should simply have walked out and start to make (musical) love to the instrument at home...Spe3D wrote: I gave up piano years ago, when the compulsion to kill the tutor became too great![]()
What you hear in any good piano sound is the MATERIAL the instrument is actually made of. You HAVE to hear the wood and the ivory, you HAVE to hear (even if you wouldn't know the instrument) that strings are being hammered on in a delicate, precise fashion... The sound of this new VSTi couldn't make anyone believe in the actual existence and presence of the beautiful instrument whatsoever.
