How many vst instruments per one project could be? And how many effects per track could be?
When the pop shows to edit the automation, whatever the parent track is, it will show faded for reference; eg if it's and audio track, the waveform will be there, if a MIDI track, a piano roll is visible ;)

Unlimited instruments/effects per project. One plug per track, but bear in mind that 'track' can mean something slightly different in podium. Tracks are stacked up to give very flexible routing, and you can easily swap the routing about without having to pore though editors to change the signal path.

EG, rather than having a track assigned some MIDI going to an instrument, then going having a send to a bus, some chorus and delay; you would set up a base track with the MIDI going to the instrument, which goes into another track with the send, a third with the chorus and a fourth with the delay. So you have 4 tracks, but they are collapsible into one visible track for simplicity.

Oh, and the number of tracks is limited by your processor...

Thank you very much. How do you think is this system with tracks comfortable or not?It seems to me,if you want fully explore, monitor you project in the mixer view-it will bi very very long...Have all users like it? thnx

Have just looked Zynewave Forum and saw, that alot of users don't like this track-effect-chain system.

And at the same time, a lot of people like it and it's one of Podiums main strengths. With the collapsible tracks the "too big mixer" argument doesn't really hold. It only gets "too big" if you show each VST's channel, something that other hosts don't do (at least usually), and for mixing there's no reason to.

If you are worried about the flexibility of Podiums track routing, then I think you will like the new track layout option I'm implementing for the next 1.95 release. This new layout mode will present a simpler UI, resembling the channel strip layout seen in most other hosts. There's a discussion about this new feature here:

Looks a lot clearer for simpletons like me that can't get his head around all these tracks hidden behind tracks :)
