Thanks Bootsie!!! :hyper: It sounds lovely!

Well, predicatably, these sound excellent and I could instantly get material sounding livlier in a mix with these; I love the different EQ curves and the fixed highpass filters (with a bit of "Q": nice! :tu: ). This is an ideal mix EQ if I've ever heard one! "Musical" indeed!*

*Now if only I had a machine where it didn't take 10 minutes to load SM plug-ins!

Very cool...I'm another who holds bootsys plugs in high regard..cheers! :tu:

jesus yeah!

Off topic, but as an electrical engineer, what would you suggest that I study if I want to create vst plugins? Besides programming of course. I'm going to be going into electrical engineering next year, and I want to make audio equipment and plugins after I'm done.

...wow... Thank you for this great EQ. This is going to be very handy.

Impressive EQ! Uses 1% of my CPU in Ableton Live 7.0.7 and sounds VERY musical :-)

I still think, your punctuation sucks, and your spelling isn't cool! So there...

I have v. 1.0 and it works at 96 KHz. Bootsie, maybe you are better than you realize.

Nice, warm sound. Thanks!!

thanks bootsie,it is nice eq..! just wondering, what is the hi-q button doing, i didnt see it mentioned in the manual.

Post

This EQ sounds great, but what does "Musical" EQ actually mean?

Does musical mean that the EQ is more like a maximizer type plugin where the adjustments are not too harsh, just subtle enhancements? Because I can drive the lows and highs all the way up with this plugin and there seems to be no distortion or real unpleasant sound, is that what a "musical EQ" means?

Anyways thanks a lot, this plugin does sound awesome. It'll get a lot of use from me. :) The only small issue I see is that the GUI has a green strip added to the right of it, in FL Studio.

HiQ means "High Q" and makes the curve of the low mid eq steeper. In addition the cut/boost range is extended to -/+ 18dB instead of 12dB.
Its in the diagram on page 4 in the manual.

Such designs can be found in outboard gear as e.g. 1081 and so on.

Cutting in HiQ mode is my favourite notch at the moment.
