I have also read the hype...and I still promise not to buy Synth Squad...
However, I still need to try the upcoming demo versions before I REALLY can promise not to buy Synth Squad....hopefully they will be a big dissapointment

Oh well, I went 26 days total. Now I have to figure out how to try for another 30 days
Total and instant recovery stories aside, addictions, for most people, are relapsing syndromes. The trick is to stretch out the periods between relapses and to make the relapses as brief and harmless as possible, without shame, which can trigger even more relapse.
Maybe, one day, you reach a point where you've stretched and squeezed enough that you don't have a problem any more.

So, in practical terms, you'd recommend buying a $10 plug-in every three months?GreyLion wrote:I was an addictions counselor for 17 years.hibidy wrote:FAIL

Yeah, that's going to work well.

I promise I won't buy anything thing else…WAIT!...someone is selling samples of chicken noises on eBay! I don't have any of those. It says they are "professional" and similar to chicken sounds used by the Beatles on Sgt. Pepper. Wow, I have to get them…where's my credit card, quick I'll use PayPal, maybe the wife won't notice, this is going to be so great!

Yeh, you kind of gloss over this part, but that "trick" you speak of is the hardest part for me. The suggestion about lessening the pain/guilt of a relapse is good info, though. One Purchase-less Day At a Time ...GreyLion wrote: The trick is to stretch out the periods between relapses

So far I've done surprisingly well, I haven't bought anything randomly, everything was after thorough research and was on my wishlist already. I've even removed some things from my wishlist. So far this month I've only bought Filtershaper, and an audio rack (which I needed to get all my gear off my desk and floor).
I'm still watching a few auctions though, so we shall see
