No issues here in FL8 ... but then again, my testing was a bit rushed, and was done on the old version.

I still have a couple of things to do/ascertain before I can post the launch, but I dont envisage any great surprises.

I need to make a decision on the permitted fx as well, so if you have a comment re this, get it in quick! :)

Mouxbar, as you have already creted a track, what do you think about use of samples from Galileo? ... would this be necessary? (.... I know it was vital in the Crystal comp due to crystals high cpu demands) ... do you think it matters? ... or is there nothing wrong with the normal rules on samples/transformation?

Any other issues before the launch?

I'm finding sampling to be necessary in Galileo for me anyway...unless someone could tell me how to make a decent kick without sampling? There's no pitch envelope..and that's the only way I know to make a kick...

edit...i may be able to get by with just the volume envelopes...

I have no galileo problems in FL so far. Will post if that changes
It changed. FL crashes on saving the project. :(

MP, you can use the glide control :) ... I'll post a pic in a few mins to demonstrate.

Sorry to hear about the problems in Fruity Loops :(
I can't understand what is the problem here... I've used Galileo for ages in FL3 on a Celeron 1.3ghz machine without any problem and with very low CPU load.

Galileo uses just a few SE modules (the most common, not weird ones) so I can't understand what is causing the problem.

Anyway guys if you are experiencing lots of problems feel free to skip Galileo and use Felix until the problem has been investigated! I'm about to do some tests, I will report later.

...in the meantime I'm still waiting for the winners to request their price (Tattiemannie I've sent you a PM some days ago) :)

But I just finished making a snare drum. And FL crashed :dog: Thankfully the preset was saved. But I can't do much with it as it is.

OK, server is offline so cant post pic .... MP, I kinda think the manipulation of a sample in the way you are proposing lands the wrong side of the usual sampling rules :(
Please be patient and I'll post the pic as soon as I can, but the general idea is to set the glide ( portamento ) to a little over half way, and prog each kick as a short duration note ( at the starting pitch ) in unison with a longer note ( destination pitch ). adjust note pitches, lengths, glide and decay to suit .... I'm fairly sure you will get kick very much like what you would expect via a pitch envelope. :)

Sweet! Thanks tattie.

Unfortunatley..Galileo is crashing Cubase 5 currently...or at least I think it is...I'm still trying to figure out if it's something I did or not.

edit..got it up and running..then cubase crashed again...:( the audio buffer is stuck so I have to restart my computer again..

No probs Max, I did say that I wanted to hold off til MA-Simon got back from hols before dealing with the prizes.
I just think its good to get the prize requests sorted out in private, then announce publicly what each dude has won, and then we can contact our respective donors at the same time.
MA-Simons choice will affect what is available for the runners up .. but not me! I would feel kinda funny having my prize when everyone else was still waiting, so bear with me :)

No huge hurry re. sorting out the FL/galileo issue, the old version seems to work fine, I'll do more testing though.

About Fruity Loops:
I've tried it in FL5. At the first try FL crashed. After a plugin refresh Galileo was listed in red. This is what I've found (weird): in the audio dialog I've turned off "reset plugins on transport" then I've done the rescan again and turned the "reset plugins" option on again. Galileo is not more red listed and is working fine here.

...Cubase 5! I'm sorry to hear about these issues, no one ever reported such problems. I don't have Cubase so I can't try... Can be something related to your audio settings MadPsyance?

How much people has problems currently? Tattiemannie Is it working for you?
Anyway I repeat consider to skip Galileo until I succeed to figure out what's going on.

OK, I loaded one of my previous comp tracks in FL8.
I relaced 8 of the 14 sounds with Galileo( old version )
Adjusted some of the sounds.
I Saved, and I closed down FL8
I opened up FL8, opened up the saved track,
....Everything fine!!

Played the track through and allowed it to finish and go back to the beginning. .... No probs!!

Stopped track, exported to mp3. .. no probs!
started track again .. no probs!!!

Gonna download the new version and do the same tests.
