DarkStar, since AmpliTube 3 supersedes AmpliTube 2, I believe you must upgrade to AT3 to unlock those models in 3.5.

Different versions of AmpliTube can coexist together in harmonly, including AT3 and X-GEAR.
Having both together will give you access to your X-GEAR presets in 3.5.

Hmm, that seems weird to me. If so, then AT3 Free will load models from ATJH, AT2 Live and Ampeg SVX (all using the AT2 engine, I believe) but not AT2.Brian @ IK Multimedia wrote:DarkStar, since AmpliTube 3 supersedes AmpliTube 2, I believe you must upgrade to AT3 to unlock those models in 3.5.
From the IKMM AT3 FAQs:
If I have other "Powered by AmpliTube" models already installed, such as AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, AmpliTube Metal, Ampeg SVX, or AmpliTube Fender, do I need to reinstall or re-purchase anything for them to appear in AmpliTube 3 Custom Shop?
After installing the latest update of AmpliTube 3, you will need to launch the Custom Shop. Login to the Custom Shop using your User Name and Password provided during registration.
Once inside the Custom Shop, select "Restore My Gear" under the ACCOUNT tab in the upper right of the Custom Shop window. This will activate the models from all of your previously purchased "Powered by AmpliTube" products for use in AmpliTube 3 Custom Shop.

Cool, installed fine, now the reg system is asking for a serial number, I haveBrian @ IK Multimedia wrote:FREE and full are the same. If you purchase the full AmpliTube 3, then the AmpliTube 3 amps will become unlocked.
pummeled the gui, to no avail, where is it hiding?
edit
OK, I had to pummel my skull to find it (it's been awhile)

Hi Brian, Just to clarify. I own Ampeg SVX and Metal. If I uninstall them their respective gear models will still be available in Amplitube 3 Free right?Brian @ IK Multimedia wrote:You should keep them installed if you want access to your legacy presets formats. Best thing to do is to resave them all as .at3p, then you shouldn't need the old versions anymore.kcisANDderit wrote:so it's okay to uninstall all the previous AmpliTube standalone and plugins, correct?Brian @ IK Multimedia wrote: Users of AmpliTube Fender™, Ampeg® SVX, AmpliTube Metal, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix™ and AmpliTube 2 Live will be able to use all of their existing gear models in the new AmpliTube 3 FREE version which includes the Custom Shop.
Another quick question: What do the numbered red tags in custom shop mean?

This is awesome. I had liked Amplitube a lot from the demo, but couldn't fit it into the budget for ages yet.
Now I have a start for free, and I can just pick up the bits I'm interested in along the way fairly painlessly. There's probably a lot in Amplitube I could live without/don't need, so buying individually should pan out for me. Good times!

I left my IKM installs as were previously. Installed A3Free, and everything authorized ok, according to the auth manager. Then I went into the stand alsone custom shop and "restored my gear"... no joy. Ok, close and fire up the VST ver (32 bit) and "restored my gear". Fender picks up fine, metal is a no show and it shows I don't own a Stealth pedal, even though I use it with the Fender Wahs in A3Free, and it works fine... what gives!!?!

I cant help you with the stealth pedal problem but have you looked in the preset list under "Legacy" this seems to be where presets for other installed Amplitube sims are stored. Although yesterday I could've sworn my Amplitube Metal wasn't listed under "collections" along with Fender but its there nowGeorgeZ wrote:I left my IKM installs as were previously. I just couldn't resist the Soldano, luckily I have some Jam points so I used some to get half off 45 credits
25 left....MUST...USE.....WISELY.....So all I want now is an Orange Amp, maybe the Rockverb Oh & matching Cab an Ampeg & matching Cab.............the Nutron III pedal.........................
Seriously, its a good think I already have Amplitube 3 & Fender because this whole shopping craze can get a very addictive
Which Amp out of the Ampeg SVX range would anyone recommend

the problem is the folders they're in appear in AT3, but the presets themselves do not. at the end of the menus there's nothingBrian @ IK Multimedia wrote:You need to have the software installed and those presets should be accessible inside of AmpliTube 3.5. You save them as .at3p there.

So is it a bug or on purpose that the models which came with the free X-Gear (I bought AT2 Live) are not unlocked in AT3.5 Free?

i cant even get in my user area to retrieve it at the moment!
update-its ok.. i used it and it was ok..
i tried to trial one of the new amps but it gave me a connection timed out message.. i wonder if i get to try it still or will i have lost it..?
I cant get back to the custom shop..keeps timing out..pretty busy i guess

So you would buy the module if you like the sound but only if it didn't have a name on it?Hink wrote:the name is licensed, I do see your point and can understand the sentiment behind it however I do not agree from MY perspectiveTeksonik wrote:Certainly you're not buying a name you're buying an emulation of the sound under the nameplate. I was hoping to see a Laney model since it's one of the amps I've played that I liked....................Hink wrote: I do not like the business model of buying names.
Ok I finally managed to get into the shop.....I'm sure it's being stampeded at the moment so it's pretty slow. Downloaded a couple of demos, an Orange amp head and a Cab sim............nothing that will make me sell my J Station but I like the concept of buying gear just like we did in the old days.........a piece or two at a time.....just a different form factor now. All the modules are reasonably priced so I think it's a great idea and as more modules are added hopefully we'll see a Laney in there as well.............
