Generating better resolution is no problem, but the hosts and plugins sometimes cannot cope with that. For example they might create undo steps for each MIDI step.
A-ha.

So there's a new beta up ?

I'll check it out, cheers.

Just to keep you in the loop: Some issues with server connectivity for Curve kept us busy the last 3 days or so.. (still some issues, but we are understanding them now and are in contact with the server provider). So now we are back again at finalizing MidiShaper's video. Everything else is done. Website is tweaked, software seems stable, texts are currently proofread. So chances are we'll release it on the weekend; at least within a week.

OK, that's great. With reaper4 just released, MidiShaper is the final piece in the puzzle for my ideal setup!

using the latest beta... and no sign of 64 samples resolution... ?

Post

uh oh we need to be careful with mentioning the number "64", there's a whole lot of myth around this number.

64 samples resolution comes with the release. I guess there's no new beta needed only because we added this additional entry to the resolution list.

I haven't tested it with Reaper 4 yet, but if it's the same as with Reaper 3, then it's this: Basically you just have to drop it in the effects chain before the plugin that you want to modulate. Set up the target plugin to receive MIDI CC on the parameter that you want to modulate (or pitchbend or modwheel). Then set up MidiShaper to modulate this parameter. If your target plugin does not support MIDI control, then maybe there is a workaround with mapping MIDI CC to controls via Reaper, but I must admit I am not sure here.

We did an instruction movie on our website, on the bottom of this page: http://www.cableguys.de/midi-shaper.html

If you already own VolumeShaper, then you find the latest full version download in your user account at http://www.cableguys.de (just click "Login" in the right top corner.

Everyone who bought VolumeShaper 1 got VolumeShaper 2 for free.

While you are in your user account: If you already own a product, you can get the Cableguys Bundle for a reduced price, there's a link in your user account then.

What are the 16 audio inputs and outputs for?

This is so you can connect MidiShaper with a plugin with that many inputs or outputs. Audio is just routed through MidiShaper.

Just purchased!

@ Jakob:
I've sent you an E-mail from your site (the already experienced mail-attached file "problem"..)
Thank-you

EDIT: SOLVED

thanx again :-)

I just quickly did another video which shows how to route MidiShaper in Ableton Live:

Let me know if you need an introduction on using it in other hosts, happy to provide that. And is anyone testing MidiShaper yet, and maybe stumbling across problems? Or improvement wishes?
If you could show that this works in Acid Pro 7, man oh man...
