An M-Class Exciter device maybe? :hihi:

They finally updated Rex to allow multiple layers with Recycle 3 which is now based on ARA ;) (Complete pipe dream because the last time they made anything that useful was when they made Recycle itself, but how cool would it be :) )

Post

All I can say is I wish Propellerhead well, and hope they have something good on the horizon. It would be really cool if reason finally embraced VST but whatever it may be, hopefully it is good :)
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

I think Recycle might be rolled into Reason and VST or another Propellerhead format with similar features might be on the way. Rewire might also get a revamp of some sort.

I would not be surprised if Reason will operate as a VSTi as well as the FX all being available as some kind or accessible rack inside any VST host as well as the VSTi's (without the need for Rewire). Indeed this new functionality is very likely (IMO) what the announcement might be.

A new revamped type of Rewire (2.0 if you will) that allows for the above mentioned flexibility with Reason FX and Instruments.

Of course I could be totally wrong but I will stick to that take on the matter for now and revise my notes after Messe if need be. :hihi:

I'm surprised none of you guys have hit the nail on the head on the last 10 pages. It's so painfully obvious. Ok, I'll tell you:

Ready? Here it comes...

Without a shadow of doubt it's going to be *drumroll* resizable device UIs.

C'mon Props, I'm over 30 now. I already applied for a personal assistant to help me on and off my motorcycle. I remember trying to resize the rack back in Reason 2 and then again in every subsequent version up to 5 (haven't upgraded to 6). HOW F@#/'N HARD CAN IT BE? :x

Seriously though, my money is some form of iPad integration. Maybe just a graphical frontend (with a ZOOMABLE interface). Then again, that wouldn't even coax a somewhat enthusiastic yawn out of me. VST integration in one way or another is my backup bet as well. We'll see in a week :)

I doubt it but I've always wanted them to release the generators and effects as VSTs, Malstrom intrigues me but I wouldn't drop $500 and get a dongle for it

Mark my words;

REASON WILL NEVER SUPPORT THE VST PLUG-IN STANDARD.

I'm sorry for shouting but there it is

never say never, especially when it is about a company and when it's about profit,

and the only goal of a company is ... to make profit.

REASON wont have to, the Rack Extention (TM) will, and the Re will playable from reason- Reason internal rack, Reason external rack.... :-) (Just a GUESS!!!)

All the Re has to be is a VST host withg an audio and midi connection to the mixer/sequencer...

This is the main reason I stopped using Reason! it was OK when monitors were 4:3 but in 16:10, or worse 16:9 mode, like most/all display monitors are these days... its silly to have graphics still designed for 4:3. I guess one could turn their monitor 90 degrees. but then the piano roll is squished..

If only the rack would stretch to fit my monitor, instead of those dinky boxes they use today. :hihi:

One issue with the VST rack is that how to do you fit all kinds of vst interface into a no resizable rack?
Then it means that either developer needs to redesign just for PH or the rack has to stretch (Ace wish) to accommodate everything made out there or is something transparent and the vst do not mount inside Reason....

Yes, alongwith whatever new features theyre hyping up, it would be really nice if they FINALLY introduce resizeable UIs.

This was the single most important factor for my decision to stop using Reason when I did, and it is absolutely crucial that they address this for me to consider going back to it. VST support in some form would be very nice indeed. And as I type this from my ipad, Ive got my fingers crossed that it has nothing to do with the ipad.
